I will never be a mastering Engineer. It took me 15 years to learn what I know today I'll be damned if I start diving into Mastering.. I tried it a few times and crashed miserably.. This is not for me it is too complex... No nO! No!
How do you guy's do it without going insane?
I will just...
Ok here is my Iraq Hate Song.. Dunno why I did it but I did it..
Oh yea, pay no attention to the audio clip in the middle of the song cause I was under the influence of alcohol when I put it in and I forgot to take it out.... Anyway this song is nothing special but I did learn a few things...
Ok for years now I have plugged everything into a power strip and the second power strip was powered from the first power strip. When I go into my little studio I turn the switch on the first power strip that turns everything on except the monitor amp. The main power strip turns everything on...

Ok this isn't really important but I have been wondering.. When I record a track in multi view it always records in stereo because that is how I have the track settings. If I want to record a mono track it only alows me to record the mono left side ormono right side. The other side of the track...
Ok I have a session with let's say 8 tracks of different music. Monday I recorded all the tracks and saved the session and all the waves to it's own folder. Tuesday I come back to listen to the session and I decide to add some plate reverb to the vocals. I right click on the vocal track and go...

Ok, I am a little hard headed. I know deep down that I can't master and shouldn't master my music. So I should take it to a Mastering Studio.
There isn't one around this area and I wouldn't trust them if there were. Have any of you sent your material off? Does this method even exist? What can I...
I did some final mixes and implemented some of your great advice. I brought up the bass a little. I still think something is wrong but can't pinpoint it.
My Imagination.

I have been getting a bit of excessive noise from my effects module in the rack. Could it be because it is mounted just above the monitor amp?
Is there certain gear that should not be mounted near others?
Ahhh it's nice to be back and asking dumb questions again! :D
I hear everyone speaking of Cakewalk Sonar and Sound Fonts and MIDI this and MIDI that.
I have heard some pretty awsome drum sounds using this kind of stuff in the MP3 Clinic.
I have never achieved the drum sounds as some of theses songs have. What am I missing?
My current situation is:
D4...
Oh yea, my Alesis 3630 Compressor just bit the dust! GREAT DAY! Now I get something new and real.
What do you guys think of the DBX 286A as a mic pre/compressor/gate.. I know it is a cheapy but I don't have very much more money to spend on these things, ya know.
I am getting terrieble hum in my strat. But it only happens on when the 5 way switch is in the first third and fifth position.. (From down position to the furthest up).
If it is in the second up or fourth position it doesn't hum.
What up wit dat?
ok this is my first post in this section so anything I say will prolly sound stupid.
I have a Alesis SR-16 and the Alesis D4 and a Yamaha So3.
I need to get a handle on the cheese drums that I have now. Is there anyway to get better control of the drum sounds in the D4 by using the...
I am getting a huge hum from my computer monitor. I know moving away from the monitor will help but sometimes in a small room it isn't possible. Plus sometimes you have to be by the mouse to punch in and out..
Any simple solutions for this problem?
I am wondering what the difference is between a large diaphragm condenser and a small diaphragm condenser..
I have a Rode NT3 but don't really like the sound. I am going to get a different mic but need to learn the difference first..
Is the mastering stage done after your mix is mixed down to stereo tracks or is it done before you mix all of your tracks down?
Or both? Whats the norm? Is there a norm?
Ok several questions..
