Can anyone add some piano to my song ?

OK guys, I know this is probably not the right place, but I figure you're all piano and keyboard players, right ? Would anyone like to add some piano to a song I wrote ? I play a bit, but not good enough for this song. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you a link to the song. Ta.

Please give a listen for a noob

Hi everyone I'd appreciate you giving this a listen. I'm very much a noob, and I don't have any expensive gear - just a Zoom all in one recorder and an SP B1. I've only written and recorded about ten songs. I like this one, but I'd be interested to hear your comments on the song, and how I can...

    Electro Acoustic question

I'm looking to buy a cheap electro acoustic to play in my band. I don't know much about them, but I understand that I'll get a crappy sound through my normal amp, and I don't want to buy an acoustic amp - I already have to drag around shed loads of eqpt when we gig. I plan to plug it straight...

Can anyone add drums to my track ?

Hi guys I have a track recorded - very much work in progress - that I'd like to add drums to. I've got an Ion electronic drum kit, but I can't play drums, so that was a crap investment. Anyway, it's a kind of rock / indie type track. It's only for fun, for me to play to my friends and say to...

PG Music Band in a Box - or similar

Hi Does anyone use this, or any similar product and could give me their experiences of it ? I have basic guitar and keyboard skills and these kind of products look like they could help me a lot with backing instruments for my recordings. Cheers

First ever recording - I'd appreciate any comments

Hi everyone. I'm very new to this, and all I know about recording (pretty much bugger all) I've picked up from this site in the last month or so. I've written 3 or 4 songs in my life, and this is the first I've recorded. I use a newly bought Zoom MRS1266, an SM58, and er, that's it, apart from...

    Very limited mics

Hi My band has 1 x SP B1 and 2 x SM58's. What do you think would be the best configuration of these to record drums at home ? Thanks

    Connecting BX5 monitors

I'm very new to home recording. I've just ordered some M-audio BX5 monitors on e-bay. I think that they accept both xlr and jack inputs. I'll need to buy leads for them, so my question is should I buy leads with xlr or jack input at the monitor end (from a sound quality point of view) or doesn't...

Insert and Send / Return effects

Can someone please explain the difference in simple terms (or in the terms of a simpleton) ? I've read descriptions of the terms but can't seem to get my head around it. What a git.

    Further Studio Projects B1 query

Thanks for your help guys. I now understand that I need to buy a phantom power unit if I buy a condenser mic. I'm starting to learn ! A follow up question : I have a SM58 which I use live with my band. Would the B1 deliver much better results for recording vocals and acoustic guitar than the SM58 ?

48 v phantom power blah blah blah......

Hi everyone. I posted a question yesterday about the Studio Projects B1 mic, then realised the info I needed was already on the site. I'm a recording baby, so please bear with me. I have an Edirol UA 20 sound card. I called the store today to order a B1, and he asked me if the card is 48v...

    Studio Projects B1

I'm a newbie and looking to buy my first recording mic. I want to record my voice (for what it's worth) and my acoustic guitar. I realise I could spend up to a squillion pounds, but I'm just doing this for fun. Just set up my own business, so very short of cash, and can get this mic new for...

    Bouncing midi to audio

Hi I'm really new to this, so don't know if that's even the right term. I recorded my piano via midi into cubase. I can hear it, and it's lovely ! I know that I need to record the midi track to an audio track in order to export it to wav (and then to mp3). I followed the instructions in the...

Edirol UA 20 Problems - please help !!!!!

Hi all I'm new to this and have just bought the card to do some recording (I am very poor). I've installed it (ie plugged it in) and I can record through it (although it sounds rubbish, but that's a problem for a different thread). My main problem is that I can't hear anything when I play back...

    Dumb question about panning

Go easy on me guys - I'm very new to this, and this is probably the first of a squillion questions I'll ask. I read somewhere to put the drums and vocals in the middle, and the guitars and bass on the left and right (like a live situation I guess). My question is, do I do this when recording...
