That was scary, I just heard distortion on my monitors, but then I realized that I...

was using the jack at the bay out of the stereo instead of my cd player being patched to the active monitors. And the stereo receiver/amp was off. I was freaking out for a while, distortion on James Taylor? I put in Green Day and yuk! Then notcied my error, aaah, clean audio, I guess my ears...

it just has 1/4" in, volume, on/off and headphone out and jack for 9v in. one small speaker. I've been telling someone how easy it is to find it and how it should be in every music store, then she goes and looks and they tell her it doesn't exist. Discontinued? I think I paid $15 for it...

I went to a guy's house to see his hand made guitars - wow.

His setups are insane too, 1/32th of an inch at 12th fret and not buzz at all. He makes semi-hollow bodies and solid wood parts, cured. Insane sounds, very cool. Carvin pickups. Takes him 6 weeks each if he rushes. Expensive.

Editing - Computer Editing - Editing Software-Features, cost, comapat, etc.

Editing - Computer Editing - Editing Software-Features, cost, compatability, etc. For us non-computer recordists, we still like to edit. Import a track or stereo tracks into what software, and edit. Loop, cut/paste, move drum beats around, maybe add effects, then send it back to...

just ordered a barebones for some editing, it's all I could afford at the moment

I'm not planning to record on it, just do some editing. Instead of shared ram boards, I decided to get one w/ no integrated video. I have one of those now and it sucks. I went w/ a board that has about 5 pci slots and an 8x agp. I could only afford a 64mb 4x agp vid, but it blows away my 8mb...

What's your setup like? Set in a room alone, or all mic'd up for recording w/ a multi

I'm wondering since this is Home recording, and since it's a lot harder to capture drums on a recording than many other instuments since it's really 7 or more instruments and it's all acoustic and loud, etc. Do you record you drums a lot at your place? Can you even have drums where you live...

Have you added drums to an existing track, and how did it go?

If you can't record a group live, but you got drums down after other tracks, how was it? I figure, it might be important to record the other tracks to a click to keep it steady, otherwise the drummer would have to chart out or memorize the tempo variations. It might make the music stiffer, but...

Dear Drummers, Can you do me a quick favor and tell me how bad my drums suck?
