if it really sucks, then you've saved me some doe for now...but i'll just end up spending some on something else, got the buy itch, one thing a month...or more...
but seriously, is it a totally useless pos? or what
:D
i see now that the 1212 is on sale for $99 and i just got a 0404 for that price.
and 1212 has adat, so it could interface with the maudio octaxxx preamp? theoretically getting nice 8 channels of pre to 8 tracks?
at first looks, they all look the same, show waves, tracks, record selectors, how far into each one do you go before you get any idea of any differences?
i've tried 3, cubase le, reaper, ntrack, and the only diff so far for me is that ntrack is easier to apply fx to an existing track on...
step #1 plug in pci card step
#2 run setup, and of course it won't run
(why did i bother trying this?) and the help desk is closed and on-line help sucks...
ok, where do i go to figure out what acronyms go with what hardware and software?
do any of the low cost multitrack programs run any of the low cost hardware interfaces?
etc etc need info.
or is there a universal hardware abstraction-like layer that all hardware fits into so that all software...
i hadn't heard this for a long time, then i heard it yesterday.
it's very up front, but he's singing laid back not loud
what's the going on in that chain?
it's not easy, since i have a bunch of different mics and a bunch of different pre's...but it's nice to have the control on the mix.
one problem is the crash is way to loud, so i have to lower the OH near it, but it shud be ok since i'm not relying on OH for tom panning anymore.
3 more mics...
I'd like t take the 16 track files and mix on pc so i can use plug-ins, effects, and see things like audio spectrum, eq, and be a little more experimental w/ my mixes.
then i'd like to try re-mixes of same stuff.
so i guess i can assume that would mean i don't need an audio interface (unless i...
I keep hearing them over and over, what are they?
One is the fully diminshed, another is augmented, he also uses but not as often, the #9, aka the V7#9 but there's more...
way better than the shorter performance on the Woodstock film. this 2 dvd set i got for a sick price of like $16 or something at Tower Records. Amazing.
it's reallyfor the toms, but i guess i'd use one for snare if they are a decent price
so far:
Samson DMC100
CAD DMC-1
Audix DFLEX Dual Pivot Mic Clip
this one looks good, but it's $25: Audix D VICE
there's gotta be more
I searched bbs and didn't find any threads....
while recording - printing the compressed output.
why? b/c as HOME recordists we can't ride the fader like a good engineer would.
so i want a hot signal but without overloading the solid state daw side.
a hot preamp would be nice, but i'll have to settle for having a lower signal there since...
a decent combo. i just tested it out on acoutic and i liked it.
audio buddy is really small, a very handy size, clear, similar sound to the dmp-3 and plenty of gain, i was surprised.
i already liked the 991, but the 990 isn't so bad either. i'll be setting the 990's up on the drums and save...
