Unless you are using this for some live performance thing, why?? You'll have to deal with the problem of feedback from the speakers while recording too.

The real purpose of the capo (besides the obvious 'change the key but play the same chords'), is the difference in sound you get playing open chords. A Bb major played with no capo - bar first fret A-style, or bar 6th fret E-style - does not sound the same as capo on 3, play a G chord (now Bb)...

I've got my computer, display, interface and monitors plugged into a power conditioner (each one on its own circuit). I shut the computer down every night, switching off the 3 circuits for AI and monitors first. It's SSD so boots up fast.

I use very light compression on vocals to help them sit IN the music instead of on top, but use volume automation to take care of the loud and soft parts.

What 'mastering plugin' are you talking about? Chances are it has some limiter and/or compression built in.
