yamaha mg10xu as a guitar input

How are you connecting the mixer to the iPad - USB or audio cable? Monitoring options are limited when using a mixer as the audio interface. Assuming you are using USB, the USB button needs to be pressed in on channel 9/10 on the mixer. Don't know Garageband, but assume there is a 'monitor'...

USB Interface Advice? SSL 2+ vs MOTU M4 vs Steinberg UR-RT2

Unless you have all primo gear (monitors, treated mixing space, etc), you are not going to hear any difference between recordings through a $200 interface or a $500 interface or a $1000 interface. Choose based upon driver reliability (most name brands are good these days), the number of inputs...

I understand the purpose with the Taylor guitars (and I am ok with how they look on them) - the less "extra" on the wood, specially the soundboard, the better they can vibrate with the sound. I just thought the Guild satin basically looked unfinished.

Not available for store pick up?

I tend to be a heavy strummer as well, and the last time I tried baritone guitars (Taylors) didn't think they fit my style. But, I have adapted my playing in the last few years, so can play a more suitable style for the baritone guitar. I didn't really like the 8-string as much, thought that...

Not available for store pick up?

Super low action, but not buzzing, easy to play, everything looked and sounded good on the 75th Anniversary Fender at Manchester Music Mill. I was very tempted by a couple of Guild baritone acoustics there ... but resisted the tempation ....

Not available for store pick up?

Assuming I don't get snowed in completely here, I'll head over there on Sunday. I got my Taylor nylon string guitar there, they beat the price that was offered when they hosted the Taylor Road Show.

Manchester Music Mill is a great place to deal with. They've got one: https://manchestermusicmill.com/fender-75th-anniversary-commemorative-jazz-bass-rosewood-fingerboard-2-color-bourbon-burst/ If you want to buy from them, I could head up there Sunday and try it out for you.

1st tele build- Catalpa body-hence called "The Cat"

My 72 Tele - with the original pickups (before I swapped them out for G+L alnicos, as they need to be rewound.) This picture is 10 years old now, hard to believe the guitar itself is 50 years old!.

    Curser/Split Marker And Time Lines

My guess would be this setting: Options > Preferences > Editing Behavior > first line, is it checked? 'Move edit cursor to start of time...' Uncheck it, if it is!

does anybody here have a studio in a 10x10 space?

My studio used to be 10'6"x10', and also housed a dining hutch, typical home office supplies and storage, and had 2 door openings, another door and 2 windows. Mixing was challenging, to say the least.

Vocals sound great through headphones but fall flat through computer speakers?

That sounds like the problem with an untreated listening room - you've got room reflections and resonances giving a false acoustic image when you use your monitor speakers.

    Small Room Acoustics

They are actually called "sound dampening blankets". Never called you a liar, I said " If you mean those padded moving blankets, they work ok to absorb some of the high frequencies but do nothing for the low end which is where most home studios fail." You evidently have a big chip on your...

    Small Room Acoustics

Name calling, 'shouting', yeah, you're proving who's a dick alright. I said I never heard of 'stage sound blankets', (never called you a liar or any other name) and from the link you sent, I see they're a step above moving blankets as they have grommets for hanging. At $40 each, there are...

"stage sound blankets" - no such thing. If you mean those padded moving blankets, they work ok to absorb some of the high frequencies but do nothing for the low end which is where most home studios fail.
