Help, Help, Help Someone starting out!!!!!

The only way to truly 'soundproof' a room is to isolate it from its surroundings - a 'room within a room' with floor, walls, ceiling disconnected from the building's construction using rubber spacers. With the price of wood these days, your budget will cover a small room like this, but nothing...

    getting my music on youtube

Export the mixed song from the 1680 to your computer. Not sure what Camtasia offers, most video editing software let you add an audio track (which would be the file from your 1680) and mute the audio that accompanies the video file you are using.

    Room Treatment and Monitor Choice

I use JBL LSR305 (first gen). With limited space, I can't keep them feet away from the wall, so have 4" Roxul AFB panels behind them with a couple of inches between the ports and the panels. For front-facing ports, the Kali Audio monitors are well thought of. I always thought that the 80Hz for...

    World of Tiers (original work)

Then you should spell it correctly! T-I-E-R-S Mix seems ok, drums are a bit lost in the background. Switching the melody line over between instruments seems a bit random and when there are 2 sax parts they don't really compliment each other. Very long fade-out.

    Recording hand percussion

Today I recorded a tambourine part, using 2 LDCs, on about a 3 foot triangle, tracked to separate tracks, put it in the mix panned towards one side, so about 20L,40R, and it sounds much better than when I was using one mic.

    World of Tiers (original work)

No time to listen right now, but the name caught my eye - did you mean 'World of Tiers' (as in the Philip Jose Farmer series of books)?

How do you place your 2 mics when tracking, and how do you pan the tracks?

    Recording hand percussion

Before I ask my questions ... At almost-67 years old, I acknowledge my hearing loss (and tinnitus), just did another frequency test and verified anything over about 12.5KHz I can't hear. Funny thing, though, is that recently I've noticed some higher frequency stuff that I CAN hear, where I...

    Dave Rat's bizarre speaker experiment

Interesting, if totally impractical. And using an acoustic guitar (no low end) and 4" speakers with limited frequency range (even that Infinity speaker he used only had a 4" driver) doesn't prove much. What is going to use to do the bass - some 18" sewer pipe?

    M-Audio signal is too hot

You can probably get away with using ANY stompbox pedal that doesn't have direct-through when not activated. I know this was a problem for some Line 6 guitar boxes when used with active pickups. The pedal acts as a buffer.

EQ/Effects suggestions for 12 string acoustic with passive pickup.

Does the mixing board have a monitor out or line out jack that you can connect to the interface?

New single out today on streaming services

My new single is out now on streaming services! Project Amplify is a national campaign launched to establish legal protections for children in government care so that the brutality discovered on the border in June never happens again. How? We are sharing the children’s stories themselves in...

    Interface and DAW question

There are some audio interfaces that don't behave well with active pickup guitars, but the very simple solution for that is to put a stompbox in between guitar and interface that does NOT have direct-through, so it acts as a buffer to the hot signal. I suspect the OP was plugging into the...

    Interface and DAW question

Too bad you didn't come here first. Not sure what the 'studio in a box' consisted of, but no doubt there was a Presonus audio interface included, which is really no different than the Scarlet Solo you bought. Neither one is 'optimized for guitar' (not even sure what you mean by that).
