I just bought one of these for $179. Seems like a pretty good deal. I hope it's as nice a mic as people around here a saying. I only have 1 other LD condensor and it's a MXL 1500. This will no doubt be the best mic I own. Just thought I'd share that with y'all.

I will be getting a new 24 track hardisk recorder in a couple days. It will either be the Mackie SDR24 for $930 or the Alesis HD24 for $1250. Any insights as to which may be the better unit? I hear an awful lot of good stuff about the Alesis unit.

I can't seem to get anything to sound "stereo" when trying any of the many micing techniques I have read about. Everything seems to come out pretty mono sounding. For instance, when I do this on a drum set, I can't get it to sound as though the snare is off to right, the kick in the middle...
