A question for the cheap gear gurus. Would ANY dedicated mic pre, even a cheap one like the audio buddy, be a step up sonically from the Behringer 602 mixer? Anyone used them both?

Ok, I give up on the MXL V63. The modestly priced mics that I am considering are SP-B1, SP-C1 and MXL V93. The MXL I can hear at Mars, but I am unable to audition the SP mics. Is there a big difference between the C-1 and B-1? Worth the extra $$$? Anyone compared these to the MXL mics...
