Maximising module viewing in track view

Please help me with a problem which is driving me nuts in HS2002. (Sonar lite) In Track view, my slider on the right hand of my screen doesn't scroll down far enough to show the whole of the meters. I have searched everywhere for a zoom out facility or radio button that would provide me with a...

    Where have my db's gone?

I have a problem when recording audio with HS20002. S/c is s/blaster Live!5.1 platignum. O/s is win 98. I set up record control so that the meters are all nice and peaky at about -3 to 0 db. The sliders are @ 0db as well. I record okay. But on playback, volumes are way down, peaking at...

    fruity loops and soundfonts

If I open fruity loops within Home Studio 2002 to create drum loops, (tools>fruity loops) can I use soundfont drum kits within FL? If so, how? If not, how do I extend the drum kit options in FL? The standard kits that came with the program are too techno for audio, imho.

HS2001 sees .wrk files as broken .wa~ files

Please help! I have been recording for some time now using various issues of CW and now use HS2001. My problem is that some earlier saved stuff is recognised by HS2001 as broken .wav files (.wa~) even though when I use "Explore" and select their profiles it tells me they are .WRK files. These...

    Compression settings in CW

In CW, (HS2002) using the Compression tool, can anyone help me with a description of what each of the settings do? CW Help seems to have good description charts for EQ, Reverb and Chorus parameter settings, but I couldn't find any reference to Compression. One other question, I also keep...

SB Live! won't record in CW or MS Sound control

I have just installed SB Live! and everything seems to work okay - except for recording. When I plug a guitar or mic in, the sound levels are well down. The channel meters are barely registering audio input levels. Testing the system with the Microsoft record sound and play Control, turning...

    How unusual is this?

I have just installed Home Studio 2002. Upgraded from CWE. Very pleased with it. But.....It just wouldn't run, many drop-outs. So my settings to get it to run are: Options>Audio>Advanced>I/O buffer size: 2048 (!!!! yes really) And in Options>Audio>General> the Buffer size is at the fastest...

Recording & using soundfonts without a keyboard

Having just learnt how to make soundfonts in Vienna (thanks to A1MixMan) the question now is how do I use them in CW without using a keyboard. I have a s/blaster AWE64 Gold s/c. Step by step answer would be appreciated. This is all new to me. Thanks

Dx Plugins and Home Studio 2002

This will have all of you experienced guys laughing, but I have downloaded a couple of shareware Dx plugins (Parametric EQ and a compressor - I have Direct X ver. 8). They are of course, not stand alone programs but how do I access them through HS2002? If not through HR2002, then how do I get...

    ASIO +Soundcards

I use Home studio 2002 and AWE 64 Gold card. I am in the market for a new s/card. I mostly use HS 2002 for audio recording with a bit of midi downloaded from the web. Looking at the soundblaster Live! card I see a lot of negative comments on the web about the lack of support for ASIO drivers...

    white noise ghosting when recording

I have a Pentium II 400Meg 128 meg sdram system and an AWE Gold sound card. And C/w express. When recording audio through a mic there is a terrible amount of white noise sound laid over the top of any recorded sounds, its intensity follows the sound being recorded. To prove it is being triggered...

    Cw Fx 1

I am thinking about buying Cakewalk Audio fx 1. Can anyone out there indicate whether they think this represents good value or not? I want to use it to clean up my recordings (take out the noise of my amps), compress the audio to even out the sound levels and to stop the louder sounds...

    Aux send knobs

Now I know this is a stupid question but.... I've seen the schematic "Routing and Mixing Digital Audio" drawing in CW8 Help, but the question I have is what do the Aux send knobs actually do on the track module and where do they fit in to the schematic? (they are not shown) I would have thought...

    MIDI stopped playing back!

Help! Downloaded MIDI files that previously played have suddenly gone mute. Audio is okay and even combined MIDI and audio plays back but the original MIDI tracks - silence. I've checked that the MIDI volume control in Win 98 is not muted, and I've checked that all my other methods of MIDI...

    Recording off Drum loops

AlChuck was kind enough to suggest some drum loop sites which I have now visited and chosen my short loop and downloaded it as a WAV file. I have now inserted it into CW8, set up a loop and can jam away to it on guitar - great stuff! But what I want to do is record over the top of the drum...

    Ssound ssssstttuter!

I am getting sustained stutter when playing back and when recording. (Cakewalk Exp. 8.0) Sometimes, the stutter is so bad that it actualy stops the playback/recording, as if I had clicked the stop button. Pentium II,400Mhz, 128 Ram, Soundblaster AWE 64 with 8 meg Ram, Win 98. Any suggestions?

Recording Audio whilst playing back MIDI

I use Cakewalk Express 8.0. I wish to record vocals over a MIDI file. I can do this okay, but the track that contains the new vocals also records the existing MIDI file. At first, I thought this might be the microphone picking up sound bleed from the monitors. But even if I record the audio...
