    Ram?

I know the question of 'how much ram" has been asked on another thread (forum), but I am using a P4 2.88 ghz processor with a single stick of 512 mg Ram in my Dell computer. In using the reverb (say like the Waves truverb or any other reverb EXCEPT the cep "quickverb", would jumping the RAM up...

how do you think the effects/etc, in adobe compare to others?

especially the hard limiting VS the L1 or L2 waves and the pitch correction VS Antares. Personally, I think AA1.5 is a killer program and really suits my needs.

I think little amps sound like crap....or I am open to suggestions.

I have tried VERY many of these little 15-30watt amps... Marshall, Vox Pathfinder, Roland cube, Pignose, the little Fenders... and even the Crates, etc... My problem is I can get a recorded sound that I am happy with...even with a POD or a J-station, but I am used to having a decent size amp...

questions about a tiny amp with an extension speaker

a couple of questions: 1. How are the external speaker jacks wired on some of the smaller amps, like the Vox Pathfinder for instance? Is it just a parallel jack? 2. I have a little Marshall Valvestate with no jack, but would like to use my 8ohm Leslie with it. How would you suggest wiring...

who can hear the diff between the mxl990 and the mxl603?

and what are the differences? at half the cost, the 990 seems to be the choice. After helping a friend getting going on a small mobile rig, I am getting hooked on inexpensive microphones. This is a bad addiction. I really want to put some of these up against my AKG451's and hear the reason...

I recorded several live performances onto a DAT and want to make up some CD's. (Pno, ac gtr, upright bass, and three fiddlers). However, I kept the levels fairly conservative so as not to clip the DAT....not to mention I didn't want to try and "ride" a master fadar "live", but rather just set a...

    stupid elec. question...

since some elec. "gurus" seem to frequent here....what would the correct orientation for a typical three prong wall plug be?... the ground plug at the bottom (as most seen) or at the top (as to prevent shorting across the nuetral and hot in the event it wasn't all the way plugged in, and you...

how are you rednecks mic'ing banjos with good results?

damn tough instrument to capture the sound. I can get an ok sound, but it sure doesn't sound like my banjo on playback. I've tried a shitload of mics and different positions, room mics, etc.. The best I am getting is with a Beyer m160 about 2 feet away and a "pinch" of room mic about 8 feet...

    submerged wood bridges

put a Desert Rose Elite Z submerged wood bridge on my banjo and it kicks booty now. Fretted notes sound like open strings now, and the whole neck has a nice "pang" sound to it. Amazing what a small piece of wood can do.... Supposedly guarenteed to be a couple hundred years old. (and found in...
