A producer I know told me about the Focusrite Liquid Channel, explained the sampling, and I was real impressed by that, but before I drop $3,300 for it, there's one more pre I seen, and I'd like everyones opinion, or, if you feel I could better better quality on a diff unit, feel free to say so...
I asked about 2 pre's before, out of curiosity, but what about these 3 for male rap vocals?
I basically want the best quality, Im not worried about all the bells and whistles.
I purchased a Lynx L22, which is perfect for my needs, now it's onto the pre.
Got it narrowed down to these 2.
Both near the same price.
I record mainly male rap vocals, as well as male r&b vocals, and I only record one artist at a time.
Which of these would be the better choice?
Thanks in...
RME HDSP 9632 Hammerfall DSP 24/96
or
LYNX TWO-B
I'll only be recording one person at a time, so the 2 ins and 6 outs of the B card seems to be ok for me, but which is better quality?
There are 3 pre's Ive been looking at, not sure if I wanna buy any of them, but they caught my eye.
Grace 101, Grace 201, Lunatec V3
Now, from what I see, the 101 is just a 1 channel version of the 201, but what about the Lunatec?
Which would be the better pre?
I went ahead and decided to get a MAC.
So I'll be going to look at some today, other wise, this is what I just purchased from 8thstreet.com
Metric Halo Mobile I/O ULN-2+DSP
TC Electronic Finalizer Plus
Event Studio Precision 8 Active
Rode NT2000
I think I'll be satisfied with this for a while.
I currently have an Echo Mona, I orig wanted to purchase a Metric Halo unti, however I have a pc, so :(
I'd really like to upgrade to another interface with built in pre's, for simple convience, and I'm working with about $2,000 for the interface, any suggestions on what's the ideal interface...
I currently have a pair of Alesis Prolinear 720DSP monitors, and I love em, but like all of us, I want to upgrade.
So I've been reading reviews, and asking around, and everyone has mentioned the following.
Event Precision 6 Actives
or
Blue Sky Pro Desk 2.1
Both of them are $999.99, but I...
I was trying to help my younger brother start his own studio, he's kinda following in my footsteps, and looked at 2 units.
Aardvark 2496
M-Box
Now both of them are good choices, ones usb, other aint, blah blah, but, Ive never used the MBox, so which of these 2 have the better pre's built in?
Ok, I've narrowed it down to these 2.

I have an Echo Mona, however I just want better quality.
So if I can come up with $1,200.00 what is the BEST quality soundcard, and pre-amp I can get for male rap/r&b vocals?
I already have several mics, AT4047, Rode NTK, etc, so I want a high quality pre, and a better soundcard.
HELP!
I have the Echo Mona, the version with the 4 mic inputs on the front.
Is there a big difference in quality, between it, and the MOTU?
If there is, I'll sell the Mona, and cop the MOTU, if not, then I won't bother.
I'm trying to get the best quality set-up I can, for the $ I have.
I purchased a MOTU 828 MK II, and an AT4047, now I need monitors.
I have about $800.00 to spend, what are the best POWERED monitors I can get?
I was looking at the Alesis Prolinear 720DSP, but are these the best choice?
I have an Echo Mona, pre's are clear as hell, it's a great piece, but, it seems like going from an M-Audio Omni, to an Aardvark 2496 to Echo Mona just makes me crave MORE, and better things.
So...I've narrowed it down to these 2 interfaces.
Edirol UA-1000 USB 2 10x10 Audio Interface
OR
MOTU...
I know your average comp card is 16bit, and the majority of home recording cards are 24bit, as my Echo Mona is, however, are there any which record ABOVE 24bit?
I dont mean 32bit floating, because honestly, I can't see a diff between it and 24, but I've heard there are cards which record above...
The computer I'm using is a Gateway 500XL,3.06GHz,512MB, 250GB,DVD-RW,DVD-ROM,18" LCD Monitor
The soundcard I'm using is an Echo Mona, however I'll be upgrading to a MOTU 828 MKII soon, because I could use the extra in's and outs.
The computer ran me $1,349.99 and the soundcard was $679.00
