I have to go away now as I meditate upon the zen mastery of the Mark V's myriad of shiny switches.
Be back once I've navigated that minefield of modes and possibilities.
:)
I wanna build/buy a good 'puter for the wife.
It won't be a music 'puter but I'm hoping someone here might have some suggestions and/or advice.
She's basically into graphic design and ad layouts.
It's what she does for a living and she's into it and good at it.
So it's time to get her something...
I have a friend that called me up for advice on which system to buy and I know nothing about them since I'm quite content with a cord.
So any ideas on a system that works well with no dropouts or interference problems?
He's thinking he'll have to pay 4-5 hundred. That much really? Seems like...
preferably the 60 but either one.
I do a sequenced duo .... done it for 15 years ..... and I have thousands of hours of time put into my seq's on floppy discs.
I don't really feel like taking the time (and I don't have it ) to change to a newer system.
So I have boxes of floppies and 4 extra...
I'm finding this out for a friend so she can surprise someone.
I believe it's 16 track though she vaguely said it might even be 24 track. It is 1" though so I'm thinking it's 16 track.
What she'd like is to transfer it track by track so he could load the stuff up into his recording rig and...
alesis quadra verb crapped out so I need another unit. looking at the Lexicon MX 200 at M.F. for $199. Anyone have any opinions or alternate suggestions?
Don't want to spend more than 200-300 bucks.
seems to still work but the display is gibberish making it impossible to choose presets or even reinitialize since you just have no idea what the screen means .... it'll be stuff like %#^&AEIbb%JKFFGJ! :)
Anyone run into this and is it resetable in some fashion or should I just run over it with...
....... looks like it's my main gigging amp for small gigs. I have a shitload of great amps for louder gigs .... a really nice collection. But getting a small low powered good sounding amp that you can use in a closet sized local bar has been hard. I bought a Laney 30 watt faux-tube amp that...
I have long been on a quest to have a modeler that'll do the live thing thru a PA without sounding (and more importantly responding) like crap.
I WAY prefer one of my 13 nice tube amps but there are just some gigs that require me to show up and plug my git into a PA.
So years ago I bought the...
I need a 2 channel (stereo) power amp. I don't need much power ..... even 25 watts a side would be fine .....
And I don't care much about quality as long as it is functional.
I just want something I can drag to any part of my house ..... hook up my phono preamp to it and drive a very small pair...
I'm getting ready to build two single 12 cabs for my Epi Valve Jr. ( and also for use with other heads)
For aesthetic and space reasons I'd like them to be exactly as wide as the Valve Jr. which is 14" wide. So they'd be 14"x 14" x 16".
Now a 12" will just fit in a cab that size.
Since they are...
A little bit of explainig as to how that happened.
I recently got a Rocktron Utopia in my never ending search for a modeler that doesn't suck for live use. They're all great for recording where you can tweak that specific part .... but live? .....my POD sucks ...... my V-Amp is better than the...
Gotta question for ya'.
Since I've moved to Florida .... an awful lot of my gigs are on the beach. Wonderful in the sense of being beautiful and all .... but rough on the equipment. After only 3 months I'm noticing green corrosion on the input jacks of my Mackie plus I sweat all over my ax...
... those of ya'll that know me know I have a fairly serious amp collection and I use it a lot. So I know amps and let me tell ya' ......
For $100 this is a killer little head. It's built super solid and looks very cool. It goes from bluesy to a crunchy rhythm to an endless sustain to total...
I just got 4 JBL D110F 10" guitar speakers which need reconing. Now, these are seriously cool speakers and JBL doesn't even make instrument speakers anymore so I'm hot to put them in my 1970 Ampeg VT-40.
I called JBL to see what it'd cost to recone them .................
:eek...
....Dragonworks heard I was looking for a Ampeg V-2 head to build into a 4-10" combo. Well there was an amp that was, in fact, that very thing. I'd never heard of it and it was real uncommon.....called the VT-40.
Well, a friend of dragonworks had one for sale and I bought it.........it's...
Just saw that Musicians' Friend has the V57 on sale for $40. I got one from muzeman in a trade and it has become my favorite mic. I don't have expensive mics but I have a SM-57, NT-1, V93 and a (shudder) AKG 3000b and the best sounding one to me is the V57. At $40 it's steal. Go out and buy...
