I'm thinking of buying a used Tascam 488 Portastudio (8 track) for use as an analog aspect to my digital recording. is this a good idea? can i record through the tascam then send the tracks to my boss br1180 digital recorder?

heres the deal: i have a Yamaha MT120 4-track tape recorder and a BOSS br1180 digital 8-track. How can i incorporate the analog sound from my tape recorder to the digital? how would i connect them? will i lose the # of tracks i can use? thanks for any help that can be provided

i have a br1180 and like its ease of use and many options, but would like to incorprate analog recording into the recording process to get that "analog sound". i have a Yamaha MT120 4-track cassette recorder as well and would maybe like to use this to record and send the tracks to the BR1180...
