What Is The Voice-over Microphone Everyone Should Own? — Pro Tools Expert
Looking up some info on an old Alesis/GT mic I have, I found the PDF link below on 'Choosing and Using Mics' from Groove Tubes. While it does have some Groove Tube product specific information, there is much on how different mics are constructed and work, care and use, and recording vocals and...
Any remote chance you're addressing the mic on the backside?? (It does happen and I fess up to having done it a couple times)
This is the front side with the gold dot....
I like gadgets, particularly when they're cheap. I bought a USB voltage and current tester from Amazon and it arrived today. I've curious about the current draw of a few USB devices I have and it was impractical to use a standard DMM. Below is a quick check of the volts and current draw of a...
- Connecting the US-122mkii into a USB2.0 or USB3.0 port and is connected directly to the computer (not using using a USB hub)?
- Do you have a control panel like below and the "US122mkii" shows up in the options for input and output in Audacity? This control panel for my US144mkii works in...
fingerdance,
Does your 'USB sound card' in any way look like this one in this image from another HR thread...
If it does, the quality may not be too good and that could be the problem with the hum/noise you get. It may not be designed to power the BM800 properly either.
I usually remove batteries from guitar pedals and other gear that I know I'm not going to use for a while because of possible leakage, but now I have another reason, one that's likely pretty rare. The battery pictured below was one I use in a bass pedal and it was removed and on a shelf sitting...
The M3 supposedly has an life expectancy of >200 hrs. 24 hours, 7 days a week is 168 hours. Do you sleep, eat, or work? :) The M3 does have a switch for the battery so it can be turned off when not in use.
Won't get a decent preamp on your budget and the RCA connections on your interface...
Hope this OK to post. I think it's a decent mic at a decent price for someone starting out recording.
I've got the cardioid version of this mic and it's a good mic for both vocals and acoustic guitar. Multi-patterned, pad, and HPF.
Used sE Electronics 2200a II Multi-Pattern Large SEE-2200AMKII
Is the mic mounted on a boom arm attached to a desk or otherwise in a stand on a desk? Below is one of your wav's normalized in Audacity and most of the waveform is a sine wave. I can't say there was much 'hiss' that I could notice, as the sine wave was pretty over powering.
Normalized wav as...
Ideally you 'need' a gaming PC, a Streaming PC, and a USB mixer to feed audio to the streaming PC :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
....but maybe what you have can work. :D:D:D:D:D
Found this block diagram image for a Presonus Studiolive and it seems to suggest the Line inputs are after the mic pres. Perhaps the Firestudio would be the same(?)
Occasionally stop into the local thrift store to see what kind of bargains I can find. I've done pretty well in the past and today was no exception. I'm at an age I'm trying to downsize what I've got for gear, but for $10 I couldn't leave this on the display shelf.
M-Audio Keystation 61ES with...
In the pics I found of the A15as they're careful not to show the diagram on the side of the barrel. What I can see of it, I'm guessing something like below.
Maybe start with 330 ohm resistors like the diagram on the right in the link below. The 330 ohms may minimize loss of the phantom...
Perhaps suggest checking voltage across both resistors to ensure approximately equal voltage on both legs.
"Plug into mixer, tape, whatever and clip meter across a 6k8." Implies just measuring one(?)
This setup might a good test of a questionable cable also by plugging the test jiggy into the...
This is a handy utility for troubleshooting USB connection problems and you may be able to see if it's connected or not. You can also uninstall a device to let the computer re-find it.
View any installed/connected USB device on your system
Are you using a USB hub for the connection or direct...
I just looked at the lav's you have on Amazon. Could you confirm that the plug looks like the one below with 3 connections (TRS - tip/ring/sleeve).
One picture I saw only had two connections on the plug which makes me skeptical that it would work with a battery module.
