Just hooked up the mixer to my Win10 PC and got Reaper up. If you haven't looked at the Win10 sound settings, make sure of the volume settings as these may affect what gets sent back to the mixer (see attached image) Yes, the USB Audio CODEC is what you should be using, as there are no ASIO...
I have an X1204USB which should be similar to X1832USB for routing. I set it up using Reaper as an audio source (Output - USB Audio CODEC). I can get audio through to the headphones in two different ways. MAIN MIX from the main bus or via USB.
Do not SOLO any channels or FX
- MAIN MIX: SOURCE...
Perhaps since the 416 is one of the choices by a good many VO artists, but usually not the only mic in what they may have to work with. Check out the link below pick a catagory, click the artist name and many of the bios will list the gear they use as well as the mic. Some are using what might...
Page 54 and onward in the user manual explains assigning inputs. You need to start by setting the track type from the 'MENU' button and then using the 'ASSIGN' button you tell it which input goes to which track. The image below is my DP006 in the track type screen with both 3 and 4 selected as...
Do a Google search on "Aston mic noisy". I had recalled seeing a few threads in a couple different forums that mention Aston mic self noise. May not be your problem, but might be.
I was curious as to what my Zoom H4n (not the Pro version) could do with a budget condenser. Attached mp3 was done with a $40 used AKG P200 LDC approximately 6"-7" away with a pop filter. The room is not treated and the mic did seem to pick up some ambient room/house sounds I could hear in...
I don't remember how half my old mics sound and maybe some may sound better on the newer gear I have, so I've pulling out a few to give a try. Bought this AT MB4000c back in the late 90's as it would run off an AA battery for the old Fostex 4 track cassette deck that had no phantom power...
Typically going from balanced XLR to an unbalanced TS mono connection plug, such as the input on a laptop/desktop, the pin 3 of the XLR is connected to the sleeve(Gnd) of the TS plug, either at the XLR or the TS plug. You do lose signal doing this (6 dB I think is the number).
If...
Anyone ever seen a mic positioned like this to capture voice and instrument? Kinda threw me at first thinking it might have been an end fired type mic. I didn't try to ID the mics, but guessing cardioid side address unless someone else has another suggestion. Tried it quickly last night with an...
You could try to get the PC to re-establish a new connection with the pedal by removing what it thinks is there using this linked utility.... USBDeview v2.80 . Deleting a connection and starting over has fixed a few problems for me in the past.
Right click the USB device to open the menu...
Hospital environment probably has a lot of RF sort of stuff for patient monitoring and test equipment that puts out RF hash. Can you test this setup away from the hospital?
Bought 2 sets off eBay bought for about $25 for each set. Does all I need/want. Better gear as the OP has should be much...
This might be a good grab for someone....... (used, may not be here long)

I had a spare 32gb USB3 thumbdrive (reformatted to NTFS) setting around that I set up as a Readyboost cache drive on my Win7 desktop to see if it made any difference in response/speed of various applications. Kind of wondering if it will do anything useful for a DAW either recording or for plugins?
Would you call Musician's Friend for microphone advice? Probably better not to if they don't the difference between and LDC and SDC . The MXL V250 is made for Guitar Center and its affiliates, MF being one of them.
I bought a V250 a few years back on a Stupid Deal of the Day for $50...
- It's a 'supercardioid' patterned mic = picks up sound from mostly one direction.... primarily in front of the mic, but a lobe of the pattern extends to behind the mic.
- Not sure why it wouldn't be good indoors if properly used. Don't expect good results mounted on the camera at a distance...
Might be a handy addition to a studio for monitor control. Passive with switches and pots.

I see boundary mics occasionally on sites I browse for used mics. Wondering if they are useful in any way for live usage or capturing some of a room while recording.
It may not make a difference, but the Line output of the Jettenuator is 'Line level'. The guitar input is high impedance and intended for the low level signal of a guitar. Try the Line inputs on the Babyface and see if that might make a difference. Very well could be a faulty or inadequate...
I know cedar will sound 'warmish' and spruce 'brightish' and I have a cedar topped Takamine that I'm happy with the way sounds for most of what I play. What wood do you prefer for recording (probably miced) or live (amped PU's?). Toying around with getting a fairly decent spruce top for...
