Hey Mike, if your transformer widget is anything like the ones I have, they come apart pretty easy. Small Phillips screw retains the the XLR side and the 1/4" TS unscrews from the main barrel. I first tried just unscrewing the 1/4" plug side, but the wires inside twisted up. I then removed the...
I'm inclined to say definite a no. I have the RC-3F that I use with a DP-24SD and a DR-60D. I believe the RC-3F sends out digital pulses/data (Output format: UART signal (9600 bps baud rate, even parity) to operate the functions on the recorders it works with. The RC-1F appears to be a simple...
You would need to buy from eBay or similar, either used or old stock.

It may depend on which Solo you have for drivers or not.......

Select the driver for the Solo you have.
There is 'Focusrite Control' for the 3rd Gen models which I don't know if that is a driver as well. I think even without a driver you...
A PC 'should' provide enough power. Are the XLR cables all new? It's possible a funky cable could be a problem. If you don't have a spare cable handy, maybe try swapping the ones you have.
With the Cloudlifter the SM7b should only need the gain at somewhere between 10-12 o'clock I think so long...
Is the Solo plugged into a laptop? If so try a different USB port if one is available. Perhaps the USB port that was used may not have enough power for the added Cloudlifter(?)
If the SM7b is plugged in without the Cloudlifter can you get the red ring to light like when using the CL?
Is the green ring around the gain knob illuminating when you speak/sing in the mic? Can you raise the gain to cause it to turn red?
How far away are you from the front of the SM7b when speaking/sing?
Which schematic is the SM57 / SM7b?
The Sm57 has a bit more top end. To my ears the SM7b sounds 'smoother' than my SM57's. For vocals I'd always choose the SM7b over the SM57. For micing a guitar cab the SM57 would be my choice over the SM7b, but not other dynamics I have. The frequency...
Or could be dampness on the mic capsule from humidity in the air or from ones breath as they speak closely.
I've had two mics that were susceptible to dampness that I've dried out using desiccant packs in a ziplock bag with the mic for a couple days. One mic (a CAD M179) barely had any output...
A question that bears asking (an occasional noob misconception)......... is the OP attempting to record MIDI data or audio via the USB connection? Most keyboards I'm aware of do not send audio via USB, but do send MIDI data and the DAW track will need to be set to MIDI to record the data. The...
Is the mic brand new?
When you spoke at 6 inches did the SIG LED light up or flicker on?
With headphones plugged into the UMC22 and listening to your speaking does it sound clear? Is there any noise such as pops, crackles, or hissing?
Can you try a different DAW such as Audacity...
Speaking/singing into the side of the mic that has the 'Audio-Technica' logo, how far away are you from the mic?
I just tried my AT2020 into a UMC404HD which may be similar to the UMC22 for input gain. With the mic at about 8 inches from my mouth and speaking normally the SIG LED was...
There are two LED lights on the front of the UMC22, 'SIG' and 'CLIP'. When you speak/sing into the mic at a normal loudness does the 'SIG' light illuminate and where is the gain knob set to when it illuminates? If speaking/singing normally can the gain knob be set to illuminate the 'CLIP'...
FetHead current draw is about the same as a typical condenser mic, about 3 ma, so if the interface or other device can power a condenser that works in the range of 24-48v, it should power a FetHead OK. If the OP has a small mixer that only does 15-18 v for phantom he may have problems.
What are you connecting to that has phantom power for the FetHead and the Thomann FetAmp, interface, a mixer, or something else and does it provide a full 48 volts or is it possibly less (some mixers may only be 15 - 24 volts).
Checking or trying a different XLR cable is a good suggestion.
Have you installed the Tascam US-144 driver? Once installed you need to open the control panel to tell it what ins and outs to use. Then in the DAW select ASIO and the US-144. Screenshots below are for a Win7 Pro desktop with my US-144 mkII. Presume the older US-144 would be similar...
Three of my most frequently used dynamic mics are the Miktek PM9, Sennheiser e935, and an EV ND967. To my ears the PM9 comes close to sounding condenser like.
Do the card adapters have 'lock' switches on them that could prevent the Tascam from seeing the card correctly?
