Well looks like it’s gonna be a while yet. Jam got cancelled last night and now the next 2 weeks are off due to summer holidays arg. Music is for patient people.
It’s interesting that the distortion on the vocals and the primary guitar part although quite heavy I find ok. I think it’s because that is something we have become accustomed to. The drums on the other hand just sound real flabby to me. I kinda like the song though
First of all what do you think of your song now with these changes…………..
As far as the laptop issues in my experience stuttering has been always caused by lack of ram. I eventually bought one of those refurbished laptops with a decent cpu and 8gigs of ram and all my stutter problems went away...
Yah pretty sure it’s ok to listen to songs as much as you want. I just put the playlist on shuffle play this afternoon and listened for a few hours. I enjoyed what I heard
I like what you have going on there Mark. Lots of nice guitar work after a short listen as I am just heading out for a bit. Added a bunch of your stuff to my playlist and followed you on Spotify also. Will take a real listen when I get back home
Cheers. Guy
What’s your band name on Spotify. I’ll look you up and add some of your songs to my playlist
To find my playlist just search for “ home recordings “ playlist. Mine is the one authored by evermech. Then just save it and follow it and like it and listen if you want. I am just putting songs on from...
Yah being a punk style you could really hit it hard. I think that would highlight the acoustic part even more. But hey by the sounds of your work you probably don’t need any production advice you know what your doing.
Cheers. Guy
Yah I think that just sounds fantastic. When you say “let's go” the first time that’s where I’d have the whole band just come smashing in there and rock out to the end. I love the energy in it and nice acoustic tone
This is basically the same as I am set up except we are playing in a smallish room so we are basically in a circle pointing at each other.
There is definitely a good argument to just go with the onboard mic’s on the zoom
Thanks Dave. That sounds like a real good jumping off point for me to try as I have a couple small condensors and will be using the r24. I won’t get to try it for a couple weeks cause of summer holidays with the band members but I can set it up so when they show up it’s ready to go.
This topic showed up in another thread so I thought I would give it its own space. I am interested in recording some jam sessions mostly to listen back later with the intention of improving the bands performance. How do you go about getting a half ass sound without using too much gear or time...
I’ve been working on my playlist. I changed the name to
Home recordings ( authored by evermech ) if anyone is interested in looking for it on Spotify. I have been adding songs by members here on the forum.
Save it, follow it, like it,
Cheers. Guy
