    The World

Another song in progress. Might add an acoustic intro. The end is not worked out, not sure what I'm going to do there. Any and all feedback appreciated. Thanks for listening!

    Recording high res

A happy ending. Wonderful. Might want to shop around for another DAW. Or not. They all have there own inherent problems. I hate my DAW.

    Recording high res

As it should be. Don't get too hung up on computer measurements CPU Memory usage etc. Just record it and go from there. Work backwards if there is an issue. HWmonitor is a great tool, I use it often, but not something I would ever use trying to benchmark a DAW. Not that I ever would.

    Recording high res

With a blank brand new project, do you get lag when recording guitar / bass?

    Kind of NGD

Wow. I wouldn't do anything to it at all. Enjoy it, play it. Looks fantastic.

    Recording high res

I agree with Talisman. You must be running A LOT of plug-ins. Using lots of memory isn't an issue though. Memory not used is memory wasted. That is what it is there for. An m.2 will not save you here. Nor will increasing RAM, from 16GB. You need more CPU horsepower if plug-in's are the...

    Drum Cover Videos

Awesome. Copeland is one of my favorite drummers. You did a great job!

    Helpless

I don't see your email address anywhere. What exact model MAudio keyboard? The Lexicon interface doesn't do MIDI as far I can tell. Does the MAudio keyboard have built in sounds that you are trying to record?

Guitar sounding funky after unlikely but possible water damage

It's unlikely the flood did any damage to it. Electric guitars are pretty robust, compared to acoustics. I live in Canada, and the weather here is brutal on instruments. My Guild acoustic just up and cracked vertically below the bridge overnight. I had it repaired, but it was more of a...

    Opinions please.

TripleM: Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my post. I haven't actually updated the file yet, as I haven't re-recorded the vocals yet. The file here is the same file as always. This wasn't some sort of placebo / psychological experiment on my part! I'll be clearer to say a new mix is up, when I...

    Opinions please.

HumanPlanet: Thanks for checking it out, glad you enjoyed it. Since posting this I have: - retracked guitars - retracked drums - written a more cohesive lead guitar part, but can't play it up to speed yet. I'd like to retrack the vocals, as these ones I'm still battling the high mid...

Electrical power cord/plug for my amplifier got wet - What to do?

Correction 'Hot', not neutral.. slipped into DC land. Ground / Hot / Neutral.

Electrical power cord/plug for my amplifier got wet - What to do?

If it is just the electrical cord section of the amp was submerged, I wouldn't worry about it. You're talking 3 conductors. Ground / Positive / Neutral. At least 2 are individually insulated. The chances of water conducting / shorting out from this type of damage is close to zero. If the...

    Better Days

I like the song. Definitely has a late 60's / early 70's vibe. The drum performance has some timing issues. As well, you may need to tweak the sensitivity settings of your e-drums. If it is V something it's probably a Roland kit. I can hear the kick drum hit normally, and then it sounds...

    Peace Of Mind

Very good singing and vocal sound. The low end is a bit murky, and the mix sounds a bit mono. Maybe you were going for a mono mix, some people like that, but you have lots of instruments to pan a bit wider, should you choose to. Pop at 1:11 on the snare, not sure whats going on there. 2:23...

    What DAW are you using?

I used Cubase for years and years, and then stopped recording for awhile. I tried to pickup Cubase again, but it had changed quite a bit, and never liked the whole dongle idea anyway. I have a Cubase dongle, and a stupid iLock thing that I forget what I even bought it for. I tried Reaper for...

    Looking Back (Gary Moore)

Gary Moore is one of my favorites. I agree with TripleM's comments. Bass off centered sounds a bit distracting to me. The usual approach is kick and bass dead center, but there are always exceptions to rules. That said, I still think the bass would work better centered and pan the rhythm...

Albert Collins - If You Love Me Like You Say

You do this style very well. Great vocals and guitar playing. I'd pan at least the rhythm guitars further right and left, and center the bass guitar, but that's just me. Lot of guitar tracks going on in this one.

    Opinions please.

Bulls Hit: That is a good description of the guitars. They do have this high-mid / frequency energy that I've tried to tame, but they get kinda dull if I'm too aggressive with the EQ. I think I'm gonna re-track them. There is a bit of a DI sound. The irony is that I'm pretty sure this track...

    New geetar

Interesting tuneage. What genre would you say this is, experimental? Time changes are cool, I like some of the guitar FX. Mix sounds good to me. Slight timing drift on the kick / snare around 1:01 - 1:08. I must of missed it somewhere, but what is the new guitar?
