    thoughts on AI songwriting service/sites?

Not exactly the same, indeed. The wrecking crew were all incredibly talented musicians, contributing their unique touch and skills to the music they were presented with. That cannot be compared to feeding a computer AI algorithm and expecting even remotely the same result. Having your music...

    thoughts on AI songwriting service/sites?

Do you have a link to a website, or application? I'd like to hear some of this Beatles worthy music that 'AI' is spewing out. I have used very basic AI as a glorified thesaurus to help me work through some lyric ideas. Aside from that, I'm not a fan.

    The Chair

Flamrose must of went out of business, but this one looks pretty cool, if I could do it all over again: https://www.amazon.ca/Winrise-Drafting-Ergonomic-Armrests-Adjustable/dp/B0C992234D/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=kitchen&sr=1-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY EL

    The Chair

I was wondering how this came up as an alert on the little bell thing. I've had good luck with this chair: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08PTPLV67/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 3 years and going. The flip up arms are great for when you are sitting down and tracking...

    Which Linux for Non-music?

Linux is Linux. All of the various distros are more then capable of what you are asking. Pick your flavor. I'd suggest a non-GUI version. I like the Debian based distros, so Ubuntu server would be my choice. Or buy a NAS, Synology is decent. EL

Where have all the acoustic drums gone ?

When I moved houses 4 years ago, I didn't think I'd be able to use an acoustic kit, since I was moving from the country, to in-town, with neighbors.. I spent a lot of money on an e-kit, and used that for the first 3 years. This year, I thought I'd give an acoustic kit a shot again, as that is...

    Border of Love

Old school sounding, almost has a gospel quality to it. Good backup vocals, did you sing all those? Agree with Serendipity Records on some sort of percussion to drive it along a bit. Full out drums would probably be too much. Maybe some sort of organ pad in parts to fill it out. Not a fan of...

    Fostex 450 to Fostex A8

Here's a video that shows a little bit. He has 8 inputs and 8 outputs available versus your 4 inputs (reel to reel) / 8 outputs (mixer), but the general approach is similar. EL

    Fostex 450 to Fostex A8

I suspect they were probably running the RCA to 1/4" snake into a 1/4" patch bay, to allow some easier outboard gear patching / routing. Or they just gave you some random snake.. dunno. You would need 8 channel RCA to RCA for playback from the A8, and 4 channel RCA to RCA for output from the...

    Otari MX-5050 8-Track Almost Done!

That's awesome. I always wanted one of those, but also couldn't afford one. I bought a TSR-8 and had a lot of fun with that for a few years. The Fostex R16 was a cool unit too, and recorded some demos at a local short lived studio in the early 90's. Where does one source tape these days? I...

    AEA R84 Arrived Today

I bought one of these almost 20 years ago, for a folk artist project I was recording at the time. I didn't really give it a fair chance on that project, and it stayed boxed up until I started using it on my own music stuff a few years ago. It's a great mic, very mellow as you say, and good at...

    Meta data

I'm not sure if this would be of any use to you, but I was using it to strip out metadata when I was transferring files from DAW to HD24. If I didn't remove the metadata, the HD24 would reject the tracks that were bounced to it. https://www.digitalconfidence.com/BatchPurifier.html EL

First 2 Mixes in New Studio

I think you have some great space to work in there, wish I had that much. Listening to the dry track, I do think you need to do some basic room taming. The moving blankets on the walls, or if you want to make it fancier, build or buy some wall mount absorbers. (I'd do the later, you have a...

First 2 Mixes in New Studio

I listened to the first song. I like it. Especially the 'Wait for me' melody. The high vocals during that section (and others) are a bit grating in spots - to me. Obvious pitch issues as well, that I'm sure you are aware of. The singer has a great voice, don't get me wrong, just needs some...

    Tracking From Afar

Very authentic re creation of a great song. You did a very good job on the acoustic guitar parts, it isn't as easy a song as it sounds to play (to me anyway). The drums sound a bit muffled, but they are there. What Behringer, XR18? Emeric

    New Song (Songwriting Feedback?)

I like the song, it has a cool vibe to it, very retro, minimalistic. Reminds a bit of Lou Reed. The instrument on the left side, whatever it is, sounds like it isn't in tune? Something about it sounds off to me, but it may be me. You wanted comments more about the arrangement, and melody...

    The World

Trojka: Superior Drummer is a beast of a program. I'm new to it still, and learning it. E-drums in general take a lot of tweaking, as I'm finding out over the last couple years, but they are pretty good once dialed in. I'll keep some of your suggestions in mind next time I get around to...

    Sunset Rhapsody - mix feedback?

Overall, I think it sounds good. I like the snare sound. Nothing 'glaringly' bad. I do find something about the low mid's a bit 'blurry'. I notice it most when the two hard panned rhythm guitars come in. Also, volume wise, It might be a bit quieter? I couldn't download the track to analyze...

Been a long time...a couple new mixes (indie rock type music)

I liked both of them. Great songwriting. 'You and Me' is my favorite of the two. The timing starts to fall apart near the end, but that's all fixable. I don't mind the non resolving on Snow Day. I'd have no songs if I followed music theory. Sound-wise, I like it. It's kinda lo-fi - but I...
