I'm in the market for my first large condenser microphone. Right now I have only a few mics in my collection. Mainly a nice pair of josephson C42s, and an sm57.
In my ongoing research through magazines, these forums, word of mouth, I've narrowed down quite a bit, but I've found a new...
What do you think are the best orchestral samples on the market, in a reasonable price range?
Examples:
Garritan Personal Orchestra
Motu Symphonic
Miroslav Orchestra
East/West Symphonic Orchestra
I've come to the point in most of my recordings that the sound and feel of my drums is by far the weakest link. The only thing is that I don't know what to do to make them sound better!
I know its not the actual beat, cause when I have a real player play it it sounds fantastic.
What do you do...
do any of you know if it is possible to window scroll using the scrub wheel on the mackie control in pro tools? The only way I know how to scroll with it is by pressing alt and hitting the arrows but it jumps page by page which is to far.
anyone know of a place that sells long power chords 10-12 ft. that are decent quality? My left speaker power chord can't reach my furman and is picking up terrible radio signal from being in the nonconditioned power strip.
Thanks
Its the best of times and the worst of times at my place now. I just got a pair of BM5A's, which I have been desiring for a long time now. I hooked them up and blammo, lots of radio noise coming out. the thing is... it comes out even when there is NO audio cables attached!!! One seems to be...
whats the best all around bang for your buck vocal mic between $400-$600? Definitely no more than $600, but less than $400 too if there is anything worthwhile.
brand new in a box, looking to sell it for about $800, shipping included.
Gonna put it up on ebay later today but I thought I would give everyone here a chance at it first.
Awhile ago I bought a podxt pro. I have to say all in all i like it. but one thing is that If I just want to flip it on and jam its always hard to find the "perfect sound" right off the bat because there are SOO many choices and combinations. Sometimes i stick to the same 2 amps and cabs and...
I'm going to upgrade to pro tools 7 but I need to figure out if I want to get the plus version or not. Heres the thing. I have waves, so I got most of the plugins I need. I don't need there compressor. I'd probably get the loop plugin, or the restoration or the EQ.
My question, is it worth...
I'm rearranging my desk to be more efficient and i need some advice.

I want to treat my room with some Auralex, but I can't glue it on permanently. Any suggestions on how I can do this inexpensively and without ruining the foam or walls?

I've had my eye on BM5A's for awhile. I could get those, but...
I just won one of these. I already have a way to record otherwise I would be keeping this thing. Anyway I don't have it yet, its gonna ship out to me within the next few months. But I wanted to get an idea of what I could get for it. It will be new in a box and I won't charge for shipping...
Well I have the chance to get a jx-305 for about as much as I think I can sell my qs6.2. Recently I have really not been happy with my qs6.2 and the jx-305 seemed like a big upgrade. What do you all think?
one of the main reasons I like the jx-305 over the qs6.2 is that I use my software...
Got one of these babies for sale at a store that I work at. We've been trying to get rid of it for awhile but with no luck. Our current asking price is 7 grand but we are willing to negotiate. Its used but in great condition. Fantastic for live or studio use. If you know ANYONE that might...
I've had the QS6 for a few years and I've never been happy with it. There acclaimed "true stereo piano" patch is awful, and the rest of the sounds just not for me.
whenever I turn it on and play that piano I wonder if its something I'm doing wrong, cause I don't know how anyone could think...
