okay so I've been off here for a while because I've been in canada for two weeks on holiday, but I want to know how you can convert an ableton project to my recently bought reaper. I think it is possible so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
okay, there isnt that much urgency, I just had a sudden thought:
The tascam us-1800 - does it have built in pre-amps? if not do they matter that much because it says something about gain and stuff but I'm just getting confused.
thanks
Okay, so my next buy is Reaper, mostly because my DAW at the moment is limited to 16 tracks. My interface at the moment is the behringer x1222usb and I want to upgrade. My main reason for this is that when recording drums, I cannot create a seperate track for each mic (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM...
okay I put this on here because it kinda crosses in between others.
at the moment I am using the line 6 ableton live lite 7 16-track edition which came free with my pod studio ux2 (no longer in use). It fits my bill fine in terms of all the effects and MIDI instruments, but my problem is the 16...
Hi, I'm going to build some insulation frames so can someone who is slightly better at DIY than me (and preferably built some themselves) confirm that this will work for me?
So my plan is to use this wood to make a frame around the 100mm thick rocksilk and use these screws to hold it together...
So I'm in the middle of the song and i can already hear that the drums have quite a bit of natural reverb - which I dont want. I record drums in a roughly 5 meters by 3 meter. The rums are facing one of the corners so what treatment would you suggest?
Hi, this is just a song I'm on at the moment - havent mixed it at all and its only rhythm guitar, bass and drums. Enjoy.short preview of a work in progess by Ollie Kaye on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
Hi, so I have the xenyx x1222usb and the m-audio av 40's and at the moment I have an rca cable running from the two rca slots on the monitor to the headphones output. This works fine with no problems, apart from I am only ever using this buy myself.
There will be a time when someone else will be...
If I were to record my band live can people suggest ways I should set it up? we have an electric guitarist (me), keyboard, bass, drums and a female vocalist. And the keyboard player will be singing as well (male).
I have a xenyx x1222usb with 6 xlr inputs and the mics I have are:
the 2 toms...
aha, I have another idea! save up to buy the necessary resources (including keyboard and mouse) to connect my laptop to my 19" tv (which sits in my room all day doing nothing) and have that in my monitoring setup :D
Okay so the headphones I were going to buy when I got the money have mysteriously dissapeared off the internet?!???
So any suggestions? Budget is £70 max.
Thanks
Hi, so once I have convinced my self that I can get good results with the equipment I have, I would like to expand my capabilities to the world of MIDI. This will not be in the near future because after I buy the headphones I want I will have no money.
So first problem. I own 3 different...
Hi, i was just reading through a thread and remembered that a while ago I had also wanted to turn off direct monitorin, but never quite found out how. But one post I saw turned a light on in my head. there is a fader labelled 2-TR/USB RTN which I sometimes use for volume when playing back, and...
okay, this question may be a bit broad, very broad in fact, but at the moment, Im in a very "I want to learn more" mood, if anyone knows what I mean. I cant record anything till saturday at the earliest, so Im just a bit bored and I am etching to find out more about recording in general. So does...
I was just wondering about when I get to the mixing stage of the song I'm working on. From reading other posts it seems its a good idea to leave it a few days or a week before you come to mix it. I know quite a few songs that have a similar feel and sound that I want my song to have, so I was...
Dead End by Ricochet - YouTube
It was recorded in a professional studio in London in which the likes of Noel Gallagher and Tinchy Stryder have also recorded at.
We've been a band for 2 years now. Started off with just drum, guitar and keyboard/male vocalist, and near the end of 2012 the female...
Because this is a question about mixing and mastering, I wasn't sure where to put it, so I put it here and its probably quite a newby question anyway.
So basically, obviously I've known for a long time what the mixing stage is, but only recently have I actually researched further detail into...
