The ethernet connection? I can't tell if you are going in a bunch of different directions, or if you don't understand what each type of connection does.

In order for it to show up on separate channels o. The 02r, you need to route each individual track in protools to an individual output channel on the adat bridge. Then, if the tracks don't end up on individual channels on the board, then the adat inputs on the board aren't routed correctly.

Sir, I've been going through old threads and I came across one from 2014 that is eerily similar to this. It seems you have been asking essentially the same questions about the same equipment for almost a decade and still don't understand the signal flow of any of it. I'm sorry, but it might be...

Why would you expect it to show up at the mixer as separate tracks when you only have two outputs connected to the mixer? In order to get the separate tracks onto separate channels on the mixer, you would need to connect the 16 outputs of protools to the 16 inputs of the mixer and route each...

Limiting Master Bus for a few peaks?

If you're talking about a mastering limiter, yes you can just slap one on the master buss and get on with your life. You probably won't hear the difference. If you are worried about it, you can simply turn down the master buss until the mix doesn't clip anymore.

    EQ Outputs Not Equal

Swap the eqs and see if the problem follows the eq or stays on the one side. If it follows, it's a hardware problem. You can always do the left and right side in two passes and use only the good eq. You could just record it onto another set of tracks.

If you took the hard drive out of the hd24, hooked it to the computer and used the software to turn them into wav files on the computer, you could then import them into protools and edit and mix them from there. When you are using the bridge to record tracks into protools, you don't have...

Anything that is part of the protools setup will only record, not transfer. The adat bridge is just a digital audio interface. Transfers would have nothing to do with protools or its hardware. A transfer is like when you take a word document from an external hard drive and drag and drop it to...

It's not hard to move the files on the timeline, but you will need a reference of some sort to line them up perfectly. I used to do it by syncing the player with the daw using time code, but that is another layer of hardware shenanigans you would have to figure out how to set up. Without time...

Old pro tools system. Need help

Doing it that way is recording new files, not transferring. You are recording the audio that is being played by the hd24. Because of that, if you record 8 tracks at a time, you will have to find a way to line the tracks up in protools, because each set of 8 tracks will have a different start...

ADAT "no good TC" Error 7 issue

" I have no other tapes and no real need to buy one" I'm not sure if you would have a way to buy one, when was the last time you saw any S-VHS tapes for sale? If you have an old VCR, you could throw the tape in there and fast forward and rewind it to make sure the tape didn't turn into a...

The squeal could have been feedback from a routing issue. Does the ADAT bridge have enough I/O for all 24 tracks at once? If it does, you just have to solve the squeal problem and record everything in real time into Protools.

The software. https://ringbreak.dnd.utwente.nl/~mrjb/hd24tools/download.html Instructions for networking the HD24 to the MAC https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/set-up-alesis-hd24-transfer-files-os-x-mac/ The downside of this is the ethernet transfer is insanely slow because the...

All the advice you are getting is good, but there are a few completely different ways to go about this, and you are getting confused as to which thing to try for which result. There is no way to plug the HD24 into the G4 and have the files automatically show up in ProTools. Method 1. Since...

Digitizing cassettes - question regarding levels

No, this is a bad idea to use while recording, but after it's recorded you could try it to see if it does something useful for you. That plugin will turn up parts of a song that are supposed to be quiet and turn down the parts that are supposed to be loud. It can work on spoken word, but it...

What’s the right Reamp box for me ?

A mic input is a certain impedance and expects a mic level signal. In instrument input is a different impedance that won't load down the pickups and it expects an instrument level signal. If you get an external di, all it will do is change your instrument signal into a mic signal. Your...
