Is it possible to run a dry analog signal into the synth, and access the verb programs for the signal....use it like a reverb unit for recorded tracks? Or in the chain when recording?

I did a lot of listening to pop/commercial stuff...and finally figured out, I think, what you were saying...and solved one of my bad prollums with my mixing. 'concept'..to wit:

So i started out always panning reverb tracks to the same locations as the tracks they reverb for. Seemed logical.
Then I tried some experiments panning verb opposite the location of the parent track to see if I could get some swingin' FX. [didn't work, a lot]

When someone says "...with a wide Q" on a paremetric equalizer...what does that mean? Is "Q" a bandwidth? Like a narrow one would be 1K to 2K.... and a wide one from 60 to 8K??
When it's said that one should use different preamps for different tracks or instruments, is it meant that one should use different brands; or is it that , say, four idendically manufactured preamps in the same unit will each have a variable enough 'stamp' to scatter the stacking tendency?
