Cleaning a heavy poly maple board?

The Sweetwater thing says just to use a regular guitar cleaner. Iwouldn't think that Fingerboard Remedy would be good for poly with beeswax in it. Seems like that would gum it up. I've used alcohol and lemon oil on satin finish maple, but I've never done a heavy poly.

Cleaning a heavy poly maple board?

What's the best for heavy poly (besides removing the heavy poly of course)?. Alcohol? Lemon oil? Heavy poly shouldn't need oiled, I would think.

    SM57's vocal hall of fame!

Whatever happened to chessparov? I liked him. And resurrecting a 20 year old thread. TAE, is that a new record? :D

    Recommendation on Bass Guitar Strings

As I recall, they were more like rounds than flats. The tone of rounds with some of the edge taken off, as you would suspect, but still had a fair amount of string noise if you weren't careful (I'm not). I need to get some true flats just for the heck of it.

    Recommendation on Bass Guitar Strings

I tried Brite Flats years ago for the same reason you are. I can't remember what I thought of them. I was into a diferent kind of music then, so I reallly wanted to keep my super bright stainless steel sound, and I think theey weren't bright enough for me. I HATED the sound of flats back then...

    New Guitar Day

Sweet guitar. Not my color choice, but to each their own. Iv'e tried all of my life to like playing a jazz box, I want one so bad. But I just can't gel with one. Ergonomics.

Used to be you could find trilobites all over the place here too. Not too many places to go looking for them now.

    Shocking plywood guitar.

Plywood may be stronger, if done correctly, but it generally doesn't have the resonance that one wants for an acoustic (or electric) instrument.

    Moving My Guitars

I thought I was the only tone deaf one around here. It makes it incredibly difficult to learn a song by ear. I also can't 'hear' chords. I can't pick out the notes within a chord. It's like information overload in my brain.

    pickup search

Yeah. I've run across one advertised locally from a guy I trust, but I need to look up videos to see it in action. It's a DiMarzio humbucker that's supposed to sound like a P90, but sound like a strat when split. Why, you got something?

    SM7B pre-amps keep breaking

OK, my bad. I thought there was an actual fethead preamp. So do those boosters run on phantom power? If so, I agree about the cable from the booster to the phantom supply. Or the pahntom supply itself. Doubtful it has anything to do with the mic.

    SM7B pre-amps keep breaking

OK, looked it up, no capacitor. And if you meant gain booster instead of preamp, I apologize. Which is it?

    SM7B pre-amps keep breaking

Could there be a problem with your interface? Does another mic work consistently with those same pres? If so, then the problem is obviously the mic. Does an 7 have a cap(s) in it? Sounds like a cap problem to me.

    SM7B pre-amps keep breaking

7s don't use phantom. Dyanmic. And also a lot o guys are using cloudlifters and the like with them now, I don't see where he said anything about using one.

    String brands and tension

I get what your saying , but I'm a blues-oriented bender. I probably just need to play LPs with low frets and 8s and forget about everything else., except for when I want to play slide. Then, I should dedicate one to playing slide and put heavier strings on it, with a raised bridge and nut.
