I know nothing. I need to know how many ways there are to trigger/manage virtual drums. Hardware trigger? Software? Both? Is there a site which will give me an overview?
Thank you.
I know it's a pattern-based sequencer, and it wasn't developed principally for recording live instruments, but I'm wondering how its audio capability is, now that it's on Version One Million or whatever. If anyone would be so kind as to comment on its recording / editing strength (or lack of,)...
are apparently related, in that some the Cubase developers ended up helping to create Studio One. There are bound to be similarities.
I'm wondering if anyone here can say if there is anything to choose between the two as far as consumption of computer resources goes. Is there much difference...
Cubase 6 requires - among other things - that a computer have a ""DVD-ROM dual-layer drive."" My (new) notebook has an ""optical drive.""
Well........... is that the same as a *@#$!@!!~ "DVD-ROM dual-layer drive?" Great snot, I don't know how many layers it has............
Thanks.
Will a W7 laptop, i3, 4 GB of ram, run Cubase 6 decently? I'm primarily audio recording, but some midi will be required. I need to know if that spec has enough horsepower.
Thank you.
Could someone please explain the practical use of ADAT? Who needs it when? Is it valuable in an interface with a small number of inputs and outputs?
Thanks very much. :)
All those Windows alerts and internet stuff: does it get handled by your audio interface, and play out your DAW speakers? If so, you don't need speakers built into your video monitors, eh?
Thanks
Are there other loop-type programmes which can do this?
YouTube - Ableton Artist: Shawn Pelton: Roll Your Own Loops
Is this standard sort of stuff for loop/sequencers?
Thanks
I read somewhere that "an entry level interface and an entry level preamp are both going to be better than an entry level interface which includes preamps."
Is that true, even if the price is the same?
For example, I am looking at the
M-AUDIO - Audiophile 192 - High-Definition...
1) I take it that there are standalone sequencing programmes which don't do recording, or don't do it well, right?
2) So, I take it that some/most major DAW softwares allow the import of midi from other programmes?
3) If the answer above is YES, are there DAW softwares which DON'T allow the...
Because of my room setup, silence in my DAW won't be as great a concern as it seems to be for some folks. Outside of the noise factor, is a gaming case otherwise suitable for a DAW build? Many gaming cases seem to have good airflow & cooling. [Dust filters would be nice too.]
Thanks
In the modest I-7 range, a custom job with good components would cost about 40-50% more [+ or -] than an HP or other brand name job. Is it worth the expense for the custom job?
Thank you.
