How and why are the words being underlined in the threads?

I've got a real noisy fingered thumper classical player. What mic/technique is useful to downplay the finger thumping that is getting in the way of close micing? Omni three feet out? ms?

Put a NOS siemens halske in my NTK (which I was gonna sell) and it is a brand new mic. Took the bright down a notch and pushed the fullness quotient to the point of "Wow, nice mic!" Thanx kid!
