Any clues?
Just upgraded, because as we've discussed before, nothing ever goes wrong with a Reaper upgrade  and every single stock plugin, not just the Rea ones, but the JSs and all the others, is gone from the library.
My non-Reaper plugs are still there.
Help!
I mainly listen to all your meisterworks in slow periods while I'm at work, usually when I'm stuck on somethng and need distraction ... and hopefully offer occasional value by commenting.... however work technology is slowly defeating me.
I'm stuck on an old corporate browser (IE8) that...
So I've always used Windows Backup utility to back up my entire PC - via USB 3.0 to two separate external hard drives (ie. I do the same full back up twice...).
I'd do this weekly but as I'm not currently creating music, haven't done it in over a month. In that time I've installed various...
So my new home internet connection is 4G mobile broadband (grrr... don't ask!) - via a Huawei 5776 hotspot thing provided by the ISP. So I have this computer and my Playstation connecting to it via WiFi... no biggie. I can plug the hotspot directly into this PC via USB but can't seem to actually...
So in my next musical iteration, I want to get a bit more piano happening.
I have an old Yamaha full size weighted key stage piano (P80 I think - usual audio and MIDI outs), but the samples are a bit crap for recording. I've been looking at various VSTi piano options... Pianoteq etc.
It's not...
So sorry to bomb the forum but this is where a lot of the feedback that was used to make the masterpiece :laughings: came from and a few of you expressed interest...
More info in this thread.
:D
Hi there
It's here!
I know some of you have expressed interest in having a copy of my band's CD. I haven't set up Kunaki yet for O/S distribution as I have to wrangle with artwork, and I'll do that during the week, but it'll probably take another couple of weeks before they mail me the test...
I have Win 7 on a PC with an SSD C: drive and a standard 7200 RPM D: drive.
Obviously the OS in on the C: drive and this is the default install location for all programs unless changed.
Not all programs give you the option to specify the location of the install however... so my smaller C...
As it turns out I had a typo in one of my ISRC codes in the CD currently being knocked up in a replication plant somewhere....
I put UA instead of AU at the beginning for the country code on one song. Noticed it yesterday. I asked the company whether I could submit a corrected cue file, but I...
I've been loathe to update Reaper whilst in the middle of a project, and now having finished said project, I've updated to the latest version.
It's probably been a year since I updated. Whilst I've found a page listing all the update changes for the various versions I skipped, it's pretty dry...
Your website needs some attention... when I found the article, it was down under the right hand menu... and presumably that right hand menu should be on the left and the arrows whould have things opening up when you hover over them and perhaps some of the actual links should work...
Hope you're...
This is not a problem, because I fixed it, I'm just sharing the knowledge in case you find yourself in a similar spot.
So I've just created a master DDP 2.0 fileset from Reaper. There's a widely available video taking you through the steps. One of the steps, once you've created the IMAGE.DAT...
I have to get this beast to the replication house via Dropbox and I have a crappy wireless internet connection, so to minimise the time it's going to take I'm inclined to zip the files up rather then send them unzipped.
Is this a safe/standard thing to do?
Cheers
So I've heard that I need to put 12 frames of silence at the beginning of any track (ie. the marker) when assembling this file.
I know that's the blink of an eyelid (abt 1/6 of a second?), I'm assuming that as all my tracks probably have half a second or a touch more from the start of the...
So somewhere in there I've managed to record a couple of tunes for my album in glorious 16 bit instead of 24.
I have to line all these up in the "mastering" process and dither them during the conversion to 16 bit, I believe... obviously a pointless exercise for songs that are already there...
... I find I'm going back and majorly rethinking reverb decisions... type and amount - usually in the "smaller room / less" direction...:D
Somehow hearing things on the stereo, car stereo and iPod to check mixes, instead of the studio monitors, reminds me that reverb can be evil.. :laughings:
:D
Didn't want to jack the other guy's thread...
So I do the real bass / DI thang like lots of us, but I'm having big issues with individual note volumes across strings and even on the same string with different notes... seems like some notes just resonate more...
Now... I know, I should...
Sort of a mastering thing, technically, anyway!
So I've applied for and received, from our national licencing body, the ISRC for our band.
What's got me foxed is that according to what they've sent, an ISRC code is in the following format:
ISRC AU-XXD-14-00001
where AU = Australia, XX is the...
