I am trying to get the infamous 'Ty Tabor' chorus effect (Program 62 on the Midiverb 2) with my Midiverb 3 - Does anyone have any clue on settings to achieve something close to that?
Thanks!
I am currently using NS-10's for monitoring....what I find is that when I think I've got a good sound, I listen back on other speakers and it's almost always bass heavy.
Are there low end monitors I can use in conjunction with the NS-10's or should I try to compensate for the bass with board EQ...
I placed these tunes on the mp3 page and got some good response of what needed help (primarily drums, from what the response was), but wondered if you guys could give me specific ideas of how to help the drums fit better with the song...
Any thoughts on the tunes or ideas on how to make the mix...
Please check these tunes out and help with any 'adjustments' I need to make before the final version of the CD is done....these are prelim teasers....
thanks ahead of time!

We started tracking drums for my bands new CD...
My drummer just bought a nice set of Pearl Maple Custom Studio...blah blah blah...types...very pretty!
So anyway, he starts setting everything up, and it just sounds bad!!!!!
I dont' mean like instant mashed potato bad, I mean like BAD...
I have a dedicated computer setup for recording, but don't feel I'm getting the max out of it...
I saw the tweakxp listed below, but was wondering if there were any sites that would include directions on how to optimize the system without installing anything. I also read another post dealing...
In truth, I have been a person who has generally avoided compression, for the most part....
However, I guess I need to learn more about it, before swearing it off....I guess i just prefer more dynamics, but understand compression can 'blend' a mix...
I know overall, the idea is to 'earball'...
Right now, I'm operating out of a one room basement....
I'm hoping to get more serious about recording, and wonder if there is a site for sample floor plans and any faq's for beginning morons when it comes to building (ie rules of thumb?)
thanks!
This is the second time I've 'produced' anything, and the first time I've engineered from beginning through mixing at the end...
The tune is not mastered yet, and won't be 'complete' for a few days, but if anyone has anything they might be able to recommend to get it as professional sounding as...
This is the last tune I did...it's backup music for a station in Clinton MO, and I kinda dug the vibe, so I've kept it around...
I'd like some input and ideas on what I can do to make it better...
The drums were looped, so I can't do much on them, but on the overall mix, playing, etc.
Thanks...
Right now, I have a D112 and a Beta 52 for the kick...thus far, I've found the 52 catching more boom and the D112 catching more punch...thinking about trying to use both, but didn't know if I might run into phase problems...D112 inside and 52 on the outside...
On the snare, I'm double miking...
