I wrote the lyrics and music ( right, like I can WRITE music ) and my pal Jim added a couple verses. We just started working on this song and Bob ( keyboard ) had a friend come by with his bass guitar, so this is Tony's first time with The Dan Thompson Band. Nothing serious, just the first real...
I hope this is not considered cross posting since I did this in the Fostex forum, but anyway, here's what I do and would like views on which digital multi-tracks (standalone, no puter) units would work best for my use.
What I do and would like to continue with digital MT:
record my own stuff...

Hi guys,
I'm beginning to research digital mt recorders. And I am interested in the VF08 and VF16. If some of you Fostex users have a few minutes please feel free to comment. I'm listing what I have and what I would be doing and would like to know if these two units are ok for this.
Have...

How is the 2001? I have a 603s and would like another, but don't know about the 2001.

O.K. fellow recorders. I am thinking of maybe a little upgrade this fall, sense I'm back on the golf course regular, and a little cash coming in, ready for a little saving up until fall. So give me some views on this recording and mixdown. Here's what I have and how I did it.

Here's my 2nd song put on BBS. A little long, but fun. A bluezy little number that happened one nite after all had gone except me on guitar and my bud Watson on fiddle. It turned out so good that I put bass and mandolin on it the next nite. I'll say up front that this is recorded with my...
Here's my version of the BBS song from the thread, "let's make a song" that ran through the cave earlier this month. Thanks to all the members for lyrics. If you follow the thread you will see a list of the lyrics and who put them in. Oh yeah, this is the first song I've put on NWR, and I have...
I could use some help. If there is anyone that uses musicmatch jukebox to rip their mp3s, and have a little time to help a brother recordist, please contact me by e-mail. I am having trouble with the program. thanks,

If you want to use a external mixer with the 424mkIII what features do you need on the mixer to send each mic or imput to it's own track on the recorder, or is this possible with say a Mackie? The main reason for the external mixer is to use the mic pres and it seems that the Mackies have good...
semi-newbie here. which would be more cost effective to have pre amps for each mic? I use a 424mkIII. when I am just recording myself using acoustics(guitars, mandolins) I use either sm57s or my 603s depending on what I like. most of the time I use an art pre and get a wonderful sound from these...
hey guitar dudes,
question, if you get a roland gk-2ah pickup and something like a
boss wp-20g wave processor that takes the 13-pin input, do you have to have any other stuff to play with these toys?
thanks,
