What's a cool console with transport buttons and faders that will interface with my c-port and Ntrack?
I was thinking about the Roland VM-3100, but don't think there's a way to integrate it. A USB unit would probably work the best without configuring nightmares.
Any ideas?
Here's a few shots of my little 12X12 hovel from ealier in the year.
I haven't done much since but have added some panels to tame the rooms acoustics a bit.
I made 4X6 panels from 3/4" acoustic tiles and wrapped them with kind of a sexy burlap material. I mounted them to the wall with 1" foam...
Guy at work's got a new set of speakers mounted within 1" of his TV and is experienceing some color distortion in the corner of the screen.
What kind of materials are effective in sheilding against the speakers magnets?
I'm thinking about grabbing one of these to use with my C-Port as an interface for faders and transport controls.
I'm tired of using a mouse for these functions and wanted a half ass mixer anyway.
Any ideas one way or the other?
Is there a slick transport (play, stop, record, etc) thingie that works well with Ntrack?
I can hack mousing, but it would be cool to have some real buttons to push while sitting behind my drums. It would be handy at the desk too!
I've got a Marshall VS265 with a tube in the pre. Lately it's started humming at mid volumes after hitting low notes. I can thump it up side it's head and it'll chill out momentarily.
Spose it could be the tube goin' south on me?
Is there a way within Ntrack to create a drum or guitar loop of say, 10 seconds or less?
My timing and consistency isn't that great and it would be a big help to extract a part from a good take and loop it where necessary.
I finally got my recording system up. I've never recorded ANYTHING. That means my arrangement is gonna be adlib at best and my mix/master is gonna be experimental at the most. Hell, I'm not really even a musician!
Rather than throw out some origional stuff at first, I think I'm gonna "practice"...
When we talk about bringing a buried lead guitar or vocal track forward in the mix, I understand that means to give it greater prominence or presence.
But what is physicaly being done to accomplish this? Is it simply a matter of raising the tracks level or centering it in terms of balance?
I just got my computer back up, and loaded the 3.02 ver of Ntrack.
I was trying to learn how to use the program (and a new C-Port soundcard) and figured I'd start with some simple guitar tracks.
I'm going through a GNX2 and into my amp.The first tracks I did by placing a 4033 down at my amp. I...
Or maybe I'm just stuck. I dunno.
I got two songs I'm working that I know what the melody is, but I'm just not comin' up with the chord progession/structure to.
Aggghhhhh!
And try to come up with a half-ass lead riff.....
I'm going brain dead! :D  :D
Screw it. "Today, we...
I bought the CD for 2.0 last year. $59
How do you go about purchasing 3.03?
I saw a message saying "to update, download current version and load over the top."
I just wanted to check before I load it.
How much does it cost prior registered users to "re-register"?
Finally sat down to install second drive in my daw this morning.
A mind screw in itself: Ok, 80 pin ribbon goes to IDE 2 cause it's secondary master. Jumper on CDRW goes on slave cause it's.......
40 pin ribbon goes to IDE 1 then to the 5400 drive C..........
Anyway, I got the smaller 5400...
In addition to some track bleed, I noticed another problem working in Ntrack.
Initial playback of my guitar tracks sound fine, but at about the 3 min point of a 4 min piece, the "quality" drops off through the rest of the song.
I can't determine what's actually being degraded. The levels appear...
I finally got my C-Port installed and working only to find that there's a significant amount of bleed through the tracks.
At first I recorded guitar then came back and went direct in with V-Drums. Same with the bass track.
Bigger than hell, I've got the guitar tracks bleeding into the drums and...
I've got this Yamaha PS-270 (yup, built-in speakers).
I just got a C-Port soundcard and the breakout box has midi in and out as does the Yamaha.
What does this allow me to do?
Can I use this thing as a midi controller with sample software, or does it just mean I can record it's sounds direct...
