    Inhaler…Hardcore Punk about Asthma

I love the song and I love the energy. Things are well played. The vocal sounds like it's in a different place than the other tracks. The guitars don't quite have enough chug/punch. Maybe a little too much gain? The bass is pretty far back in the mix.

Mix advice on new song demo please

I agree about the vocals. I think you need more confidence. They need to sound like you're doing more than just "getting through the take." Doubled vocals would sound good on a song like this. There are great spots for harmonies. Little click at 2:32. Might be a lip smack on the vocal...

    Border of Love

I thought it sounded pretty nice. I don't think I would have made a comment about 2.5K. But if you notched a little bit out there I don't think it would hurt. I don't know if the click track was unmuted, or if it bled through. Or maybe you want it in? Anyway, there is a click all the way...

Just for the hell of it Misfits cover- Where Eagles Dare

I can hear the vocals better now. A couple of new things pop out to me. The reverb on the vocals is really heavy and doesn't match the other tracks. To me, I'd dry it up quite a bit. I'd probably go with a different reverb sound too. And the real-low-low end of the bass is fairly rumbly. I...

Just for the hell of it Misfits cover- Where Eagles Dare

I never heard the original. It has a very Ramone'sy sound. Guitars especially. The drums get a little buried - mostly the snare and kick. Vocals are a little buried too. Just a bit. Great energy to the song.

    Distortion

Guitars sound great. Everything is well played. Low end is perfect. I noticed this mix is pretty narrow - not much stereo width. The vocals are a little buried. Might be intentional.

So Far We're So Far Away

Thanks @PorterhouseMusic Glad you like the vocals. Maybe I should revisit the snare. Don't know what a Roland R70 sounds like, but it's probably not good.

So Far We're So Far Away

Thanks @Manslick, @RFR, @jman1283, and @Bulls Hit. I appreciate the listens. When I get some time, I'll check out the low end.

So Far We're So Far Away

Thanks @DM60 and @stratmonkee. I'll do a check on the low end.

Lee Shore CSN cover (Final mix/master))

The lead guitar sounds great. Very CSN-y. In fact all the guitar licks sound great. Acoustic guitars sound nice too. The low end of the mix is pretty rumbly. Mostly in the bass. Kick sounds OK. Vocals are just a bit out front. I might move them back in the mix just a bit. Little pop at :03.

Hand Me Down My Walking Cane

this sounds real good. Real nice performances. Some possible changes... Maybe pan the guitars just a bit wider. Or at least the guitar on the left (but not so much that it sounds completely separated from the singer). Roll just a bit of low end off the guitars - there's a little wumph every...

    Tiny Blade of Grass

I have that problem with my voice. I've had results that I like using a de-esser. I center it on 2.5K and make it about an octave wide. I usually settle on 9-12 db of gain reduction max. This tames those abrasive jolts when they occur, but leave in a lot of vocal clarity because the de-esser...

    Tiny Blade of Grass

Second thoughts... I know I said the guitars sounded OK. But I think they're missing some high-mid detail. They're just a bit muffled. Like they're missing 5K and above.

    Tiny Blade of Grass

Generally things sound OK. The vocal sounds OK. But it gets a little brittle in spots - like in the mid-2Ks. Words at the end of lines sometimes get lost in the mix. Bass sounds good. Nice level too most of the time. It sounds like a low frequency jumps out every now and then. Like...

So Far We're So Far Away

This is a song I wrote a long time ago and re-wrote recently. It was a songwriting exercise to "write a James Bond movie theme". I ended up not liking it all that much. Oh well.

    No Escape

I think this sounds pretty good. Well structured song. Midi-y. But still sounds nice. Vocal sounds nice. Bass level is just right. Kick and bass are playing well together. Keys sound OK.

    Original Instrumentals

On Phantoms 3 The soundscape you set up is good. The piano sets up the song nicely, along with the low-end drone note. But the song needs to go somewhere. I keep waiting for something big to happen and it doesn't. A sax comes in briefly (it's a bit far back in the mix, with a lot of reverb)...

Punk gone acoustic - Original Tune (Everyone is Getting Older)

I thought this was a really good song. The guitars and vocals sound fine. Maybe nudge up the vocals or nudge down the guitars. Just a bit - like 1 db tops. The acoustic version is nice, but I'm thinking I'd like the punk version better. Might just be me.

    Post-rock/instrumental track

Yeah "de-cluttering" the guitar worked better than I thought it would. It sounds good. The drums sound better at this level. They may even be a bit loud - maybe set them somewhere in between the first mix's level and this level. Someone else mentioned simplifying the drums. I know you said...

    Post-rock/instrumental track

Good bass sound. The guitars don't sound too bad. They could be just a bit brighter maybe? Drums are kind of far back in the mix. Songwise - both the bass and the guitars are trying to be the center of attention. Both parts are moving fast. It makes it difficult for the listener to take it...
