I'm writing my degree on the U47 and need your help

So, are you still riding that bicycle to work?

    WZ16:2DX Mixer

You should download the 16:2 docs file. It has instructions for MixWiz editor software. You install via the Midi connection. If your interface doesn't have a midi port, it says to use a USB to Midi converter. https://www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2023/07/WZ16-DOCS.zip

    I feel really bad

Because Audacity is Open Source, and source code is available, they can't distributed it with ASIO support due to licensing restrictions by Steinberg who owns the system. However, if you know programming and have the tools, you can use the Audacity source code and compile a version with...

What are my chances of getting a hit in the Billboard Hot 100?

It sounds to me like you need a lawyer versed in the music business to write those contracts.

    I feel really bad

THIS! ⬆️ If you have Ableton, there are tutorials online for setting up Ableton with the Model 12. You might want to download Reaper as it should easily set up the Tascam as the input device if you have installed the Tascam drivers.

What are my chances of getting a hit in the Billboard Hot 100?

Yeah, Beyonce is getting so stale that after 22 yrs as a solo artist (28 Grammys), and some minor movie roles (an Oscar), she could only manage to gross a measly $580M for her Renaissance tour in 2023. That doesn't come close to newcomer (21 yrs) Taylor Swift's $2B Era's tour. That...

Autumn Leaves - acoustic jazzy cover

Nicely done. Enas has an excellent voice. I was curious as to what microphone she was using. I don't recognize it.

How to archive a track in Reaper?

Obviously I didn't understand Cakewalk's use of "archive". It seems a strange term for that function. Just a confirmation of what Ashcat stated, I loaded a 20 track project, and it was using around 9-10% CPU resources. Muting the tracks dropped the CPU usage to less than 1%. As each...

Another 'awkward' chinese mic - and something new?

They offered the same choices with the 103 mic. I'm surprised that they are offering a 34mm capsule. The original Neumann using an 18mm capsule! At almost double the diameter, that could be a tight squeeze Looking though the AliExpess site, I see both a 34mm verison and a "Debra" version...

How to archive a track in Reaper?

There's no special need to archive a project. There are no proprietary file formats, except for the small .rpp file which is where all the program setting reside. Make sure that when you save the project, you put all media files in the project folder, then just zip that folder and stick it...

    Mics For Sax

It's a bit funny that I bought a pair of C2 mics at a bargain price to get the case to store my Rode M5s. Turned out the that C2s are not bad mics. A little bright sounding, and not as quiet as the Rodes or my AKGs but definitely usable.

Help Recording DI Distorted Guitar Tones

I have the same, and yes, I learned something new. I don't use amp sims, I've got a PodXT and an Iridium but it something that I've tucked away for the day I need it.

    Memoirs

I use Handbrake to convert DVDs to MPGs so that I can put them on my tablet. A full 2 hour movie takes about 2 GB, so my 128GB microSD card has about a dozen movies on it, plus several seasons of Big Bang and Friends. Just enough to keep me occupied on a 4 hour flight.

    Outrageous (about domestic abuse)

The vocals are really upfront, I might have pulled them down a tad and add reverb for a tiny bit more space. The doubled vocal parts really work! I like that.

I bought a crazily cheap 'Neumann' TLM103 and it's really decent!

There are distinctions between Patent, Copyright and Trademark. A Trademark is a design or phrase that is an identifier, like the Neumann square with their name down the middle, or Coke, or Gibson's open book headstock. They can be indefinitely held as long as you do period registrations...

    Memoirs

I made copies on both DVD and USB flash drive. Copies were given to each of my siblings. From there, they can be transferred to any device they like, have 10 more copies made if they want. They are far more "permanent" than the 7inch reels of audio tape (one copy) or 8mm films that were...

I bought a crazily cheap 'Neumann' TLM103 and it's really decent!

The ones with the "red squares" are clearly altered photos. Some have part of the Neumann name blacked out, but not all of it. But by definition, there's a distinct difference between a true counterfeit and a similar look. But whatever... this horse has been beaten to death. Don't buy...

I bought a crazily cheap 'Neumann' TLM103 and it's really decent!

If you pay attention to the posted video, the employee is not even talking about a mic similar to the one reviewed. He didn't bother with the KETS mic in the upper corner. His example is a mic that is clearly labeled as Neumann, has the logo, etc. THIS IS THE FAKE TLM103. Notice the logo...

RE: Audacity This is perfect situation for using Audacity. Editing is very easy. You can edit out any extraneous bits. You aren't trying to synchronize multiple tracks like a typical music recording would demand. You also won't need extensive plugin support. Audacity comes with lots of...
