Did this song yesterday and was immediately confronted by listeners that just asumed it was AI.

No, its years of doing what you do in your home studio with a real brain.

Very NOT so encouraging...

Is that AI? Sure sounds like it - almost if you propositioned the AI to create a late 50s Blue Note jazz sound. :P

You shitting me. :) Its my Cubase and me last night. Thanks for the scam!! :D

So, you're really a jazz playing ROBOT, which is several steps above AI and only a step away from the Jetsons! Pretty soon people will assume that everything is an AI fake! Sad! And cool tune, meter.

Icould show the cubese-thingss but naev-
you coulnt get anyhow. :)

I was willing to give it a second listen, but then I was directed to sign in on Soundcloud.
Yeah, no thanks.
I've been playing for 60 years, and I've never heard horn players play like that.
If it's real, you should be up there with Rudy Van Gelder or Q, and not posting on some bulletin board.

I took the track, plonked it into cubase and the duplicated it. It was a two minute job to align them so they play perfectly together, but with one slipped in time

. I've never 'accidentally' managed to do that with a live drummer, ever. The brass stabs, the drums and the piano all appear to be playing totally locked to a very fixed tempo. We must draw our own conclusions on how live music can be this precise. I cannot for a moment imagine what gave people the idea it was AI. The pianist must also have had quite large hands to be able to play some of the arrangement - not sure my fingers could play those notes, and the bass player is quite, er, imaginitive in certain bits.

It's also rather un-jazz like, and doesn't develop or improvise, just follows the pattern, over and over again.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I don't care WHO you listen to. Duke, Miles, Trane, Weather Report, Snarky Puppy. Nobody plays with that kind of precision.
I'll tell you exactly what's missing... SWING!
Improvisational jazz is a modality where it's "Call and Response". You hear, you respond. There is an inherent human delay. Big Band jazz, when your playing from charts, you cannot get 17 people to all play a note "NOW" all at the same time. (There's the Miles' old saw about "when is now, NOW?")
Listen to "A Love Supreme". Listen to "Take 5". Listen to '___________" (insert song name). Those are human beings. Early drum machines actually had a "humanizer" effect to add modulation to time, just the inverse of quantize.
I am not going to spend anymore time going down another "Tone" rabbit hole. or an "AI"/Bot" wormhole. IMHO, this is just another sham post by a newbie bot.
