I liked that - what did my head in though was the waveform - being reversed from 'normal' and out of time with the beat. I found I had to go back and re-listen because it took my attention and pulled focus.

THIS! Same OCD. :D

In mixing, my inclination would be to reduce the monotonous parts and bring up the ear candy. The thump and the rhythmic chords are not the feature here, but they are the feature of the mix - which, like the waveform, is the OPPOSITE of what I'd have done.


Put the bed in the background. Bring out the interesting runs as features. In that like the complexity of the arrangement. Everything is mixed a bit backwards from how I would have treated it. You don't put your least interesting parts in front of everything else.
