Hello all,
After working in the industry and exiting to more normal 9-5 work I completly walked away from recording about 10 years ago. I am looking to get back to recording/engineering and need some assistance navigating the changes to ProTools.
I used to have a 003r and all the AIR virtual...

Not sure what patch he is trying to get (I don't think he does either) but it seems to be the right one playing in Sonar. Here is the Procedure he is Following.

He refuses to Learn a thing about MIDI so he would not know what that is if I asked. I have only been able to find screen shots of Sonar 1 on the web. Is the track output the Three pull-down menus on the Piano Roll view?
I know this is impossible....but I have been asked to do it as best as I can.
I have a recording from the Mic on a DV camera. Its a Man speaking in a gymnasiam. I have been asked to clean up the audio and try to get rid of the nasty reverb.
I use Pro Tools and have been tweeking real hard...

I used a "Whisper Room" once I think it was about $3000
The reason the Company went with the name "Whisper Room" is because if someone is whispering anywhere within a one mile radius it can be heard loud and clear inside the "Whisper Room"
Here is how I handled the same thing back in the day.
To treat the inside of the closet:
Leave the cloths IN the closet

To try to keep sound in:

Thinking more about it a Dynamic makes sense in my situation. Feels weird doing something new for a change.
Another kind of off topic questions.......Do clients care if they are singing into a rather ugly looking SM7? (sorry but they are ugly)
I am a bit confused.
I have always just recorded vocals through condensers (I used a SM7 once and it sounded great, but the Vocalist had sort of a "Talking Heads" style) never thought twice about it. I always thought dynamic were more "specialized" vocal mics great for some bad for others...
Just got home from work........
As for my current "mic locker" contains nothing for vocals (I had a rode NT1000 but sold it recently to a friend who needed badly)
2 Oktava MK-012's
2 Shure SM57's
1 Sennhieser E602
As for acoustical treatments for the room.............its horrible.....and I...
I do local recordings for all types of music hip hop to classic rock and need a new vocal mic that will do well under these conditions.
I was looking at the Shure KSM44 or Rode K2, but also was looking at the option of buying 2 $350 mics that sound different.
I am pretty lost at this point so...
