I just got the iPhone SE and considered the Rode IXY. Which would be overkill for scratch tracks IMHO. But might be a good coincidence pair for acoustic guitar and certain recordings.
Maybe someone will chime in with some experience with the rode, I assume it should be pretty decent.
Edit- the...
I'd recommend trying out Native Instruments for amp sims, there layout could be a little better but I like there tones.
Usually what I do is run my guitar into a D.I. box and one line out goes to interface and the other to my amp for latency free recording and not having to commit to a sound...
Looks like there's 2 inputs on that interface that can be used for D.I. guitar, make sure you have that selected correctly.
You should have an separate HD to record Audio too.
I don't remember much about audacity but make sure your input looks right in it for Drums. example>stereo or mono...
In my old house I was getting about that -50 to -55. I was very happy with it (although I really don't think that low is necessary).... Probably be louder where I'm at now.
On the logic 9 demo song, same with the beyonce mix tracks, they didn't edit out a ton of things I would've. In the mix...

1)DAW software
2)interface
3)mic
4)make sure your interface works well with your computer and software

You'll want to do one or the other 100% software or hardware, in my experience it always sounds horrible mixing the two.
I usually use hardware monitoring because theres less chance of something going wrong. My way is going into a direct box one line goes into interface and the other goes to...
This is right ^
I think your getting hung up on.....what stereo is technically i.e.. a difference between the two speakers.
Your old school thinking, it's in stereo "coming out of both speakers"
Trying to get on track to help you. Somethings wrong with the way your setup. If you record a...
@dotnik
I listened to your audio for a couple of minutes. I think the ambient sounds are typical with your situation. You can set up a noise reduction plugin that will silence everything below a certain dbs (whatever you set it too). you'll have to experiment with this to see if it will work for...
quote/Or is it just a matter of switching off the synth channel on the mixer when using the synth for midi input, and switching off the midi connection from synth to PC when using the synth as midi instrument? /quote
Yes...there's too many variables, the best thing is to find what works for...
