Selling Out in the Music Biz: How are you spending your money?

Without using the calculator, these are my estimates... 1. $70,000. 2. $300. 3. $2000. 4. Seidy, not enough money is always a factor I suppose, but the cause of the problem can be many things. For example, here is a financial issue that I have currently... Starting out, I had to enter...

Selling Out in the Music Biz: How are you spending your money?

Here are my questions? 1. How much money have you spent on gear? 2. How much money have you spent on studio time? 3. Do you ever hire professionals (musicians, mix engineers, mastering engineers, etc.)? 4. What are some financial barriers that you have encountered as you have been pursuing your...

I need some opinions on my Amazon book.

Hopefully, other people will be more reasonable than your friends. I am definitely new to the book industry. I am a producer and a musician. I am sorry that I don't live up to your expectations, but I am not about pushing books. Music is my game.

I need some opinions on my Amazon book.

Friends, :facepalm:My small organization has fallen victim to a computer glitch, resulting in substantial miscommunication. “Big Time Techniques for the Small Time Record Producer” will be free on Amazon tomorrow Wednesday, May 30th. I apologize for the mistake. May 30th is scheduled and...

    Noise Canceling Headphones

I agree 100% with Dags. I would not use them for mixing, but they are cool when you are being creative during the tracking and editing phases. I have a pair of NC Sony’s that I use occasionally when I want to zone out and just listen to the work. I have also noticed changes to the bass when I...

I need some opinions on my Amazon book.

Just a Kindle version for now hellohans... I have no plans to send it to print at this time, because there has not been a big demand for a printed version. However, things could change and I will keep you in mind if they do. Meanwhile, I should tell you that you do not need a Kindle to read...

I need some opinions on my Amazon book.

My new book on record production has been very well received on Amazon. It currently has 5 stars; and a few weeks ago, it hit the #1 best seller position in Music. I would love some feedback, so I am offering the book for free on Tuesday, May 29th. To the moderators: I hope that you will not...

My friend swears vocal range is a myth

Yeah seriously, what a moron. I'd like to hear Barry White sing some old school Mariah Carey tunes. Barry is a "true artist", it should be no problem for him.

Mac or PC.....WHO GIVES A CRAP....

I use macs for one purpose only; running my DAWs. I use PCs for everything else.

Condensor / Amp Help Please :)

Yeah, they are supposed to be compatible, but if you decide to get an mbox I would just put the time in to learn protools.

Seeking advice for recording on the cheap...here's my method

Yep, I appreciate that you like "hands on controls", but there is a cost to that luxury and it is; your sound. If you had a higher quality board it might be different, but all I see right now is unnecessay, cheap, analog circuitry in your signal path.

    Acoustic demo and a metronome?

Looks like you asked a question and then answered it yourself.;)

Condensor / Amp Help Please :)

Well, what software do you want to use? If you would like to work with Protools, I like the MBox 2 Mini for you.

    Really Basic Questions

I am guessing that you meant xm8500, the handheld behringer mic. It is sort of like a knock-off SM58, but I suppose that it will still sound better than your voice recorder or iPhone. The problem is just what you think it is. You have a nice sound card, but not an 'audio interface' designed for...
