I just ordered a laptop to use exclusively for home recording. I use the m-box with pt-le 6.9. It's an HP (with WinXP, NOT Vista). 2gb duo core processor. 2gb ram. 120gb hard drive, 7200rpm. I feel pretty confident that I'm going to be working fine. any thoughts. JC

stupid question. when you have a track that is not panned, but is dead center, it plays equally to both l and r speakers right? then a couple of questions, is their any difference in sound if you copied that track, and panned both of them hard left and right? maybe just louder in general? and...

I bought a blue tube preamp, which states it's best not to be used for line level instruments...would it be a problem to record a bass track directly throught the preamp? I'm using mbox and protools. thanks.
