    Newbie needs help with amplifying vocals

    Ok, so I've got a decent mic, but I don't have anything to hook it up to. What can i use, other than a pa, to amplify the vocals for live sound. I need help.

    My home recording situation

    Alright, here's the deal. I've got a Compaq 5461 computer..500 mhz..i'm not sure about the soundcard, most likely a cheapo stock one, and a sm58, and a cheapo mic. (not a comp mic though) So i've got the computer and a full version of cool edit pro. is there anyway i can get a not too terrible...

    Shure SM58 into amp

    I've got a garage band...and i found a deal on a sm58, but i'm not sure if it would work with the equip. i use. Right now I use a cheapo mic and run it into an amp. What do i need to do to be able to use the sm58 with the amp i use now.
