If by chance your laptop does not have a Firewire port, a Firewire PCMCIA card is no big deal if you do your homework. Decide what Audio interface you want, call the manufacturer's Tech Support and ask them to recommend a PCMCIA card.
I am glad I did this. I have a laptop without a Firewire slot...
I own a Gnx3 and would not upgrade to the 4. I think the effects are not bad however, the amp modeling is terrible. I've been using a Vox Tonelab and I think it sounds much better than the Gnx3. Just my $02.
I was told the same thing about the TI chipset. Thats what I purchased and it works fine. SIIG or this site will work:

I called the Presonus folks before I placed my order for a Firebox and the told me that the firewire cards need to have a Texas Instrument chipset. The recommended a company named CoolDrives who carry these cards.
I ordered one for my laptop and it was only $29.00. I don't know if that's your...

I am not crazy about the VocalPrisim's preamps since I run my Mic directly into it. I use a foot switch to turn the harmonies on and...

I am closing down my Home-Studio. Before I put this on EBAY I thought I would offer it here first.
It's the Focusrite VoiceMaster Pro Platinum Preamp with the Digital I/O option card.
I've only used it around 5-6 times. It's in 100% working and physical condition and comes with the manual.
I...
