Spare Dougal

I started as a bass guitarist in various bands before deciding to having a dabble at a solo career as a percussive baritone guitarist. I released a record and even toured the UK meeting some great people and started working with them on their music. So I decided to start making records for other people instead. Since then that's all I've been doing, working in the studio making various records with everyone I come by. I've now returned to the world of the musician, playing bass in The Little Unsaid as well as continuing to make records.
In The Beginning

I've been involved in making records since 2005 after doing time at LCM and SAE for my sins. After getting a first class degree from SAE I set up Pinna Studios with friend and fellow producer Kevin Feazey. Mean while I was working at Livingston Studios with the likes of Ali Farke Toure, John Martyn and Kanye West. Both Kevin and I started to get more involved in with the musicians we were working with so in 2010 we decided to focus on production work rather than running a studio.

So far I've been fortunate to have my work with Portico Quartet nominated for a Mercuty Music Prize in 2008 and with Oumou Sangare nominated for a Grammy. At the moment my main attention is on The Little Unsaid, and the wonderful Angela Moyra, but I still have time for working with other people. Variety is the spice of live no?
