    Boss DR-670 + MIDI

All you need to do is set the DR to a pattern that doesn't have anything in it. By default, I believe the user patterns start at 200, so unless you've created that one, just set it there and let her rip! If there's something in there you don't care about, just clear that pattern.

    Boss RC-50 looper

I believe you CAN change the sound of the click on the XL. But it still SUCKS as you described. Also, the RC-20 and 20XL aren't MIDI capable, which would be a HUGE benefit too. You could lay down loops, then sync them with a recorder (I have the BR1600). At any rate, for what I use it for, I...

    Boss RC-50 looper

I have the RC20XL as well, and LOVE it. It has helped me tremendously in practicing guitar leads etc. You simply play a rhythm guitar track, stomping the pedal at the beginning and end of the loop, then it just plays it over and over while you work out lead parts over the top of it. It is an...

    BR1600CD-ENDLESS recording

Interesting. If you look at the 'default' length of a song track, I think it's in the 5 min time frame. So you guys are saying that you just turn on record and record away? I'll have to mess with it some more I guess. I know mine stopped at around 5 minutes, and I also know it's not out of...

    BR1600CD-ENDLESS recording

Is there a way on the BR to set it to record and it'll just run continuously (of course until it runs out of space). I was messing with mine the other day, and just wanted to play and sing a bunch of different tunes, but it would stop at like 5 minutes. I'd then change the v-track and record...

    br1600 punch in?????

Exactly what are you trying to do? The answer is YES, you can use it more than once, but you have to 'finish' ONE punch before setting the start/end points for a subsequent punch. If you are saying that you want to play the whole track through, and punch in on A and out on B...then continue...

    Guitar noise on BR1600

One thing I've heard is trying to play while being 'physically' too close to the BR might create more noise than moving away from it. Also, the pre's on the 1600 don't 'kick' in until turned almost all the way up, but then you get more noise. To the extent you can crank them down some, it will...

    BR-1600 Insert effect?

If you BOUNCE the mix down to a stereo pair, the effect will be 'written' (recorded) to the stereo tracks (usuall 9/10), but the original track will remain as it was when you loaded it. steve

    vs-1880 problem

Not sure if you use midi or not, but I have a BR1600 and use Magix Studio Deluxe to sequence drums, bass and record fader movements during mixdown. I have found that if you have a track highlighted in Magix that is tied to a different channel than the fader being moved, it will control both...

    Synching DR 770 w BR1600

Check to make sure you don't have the 'arrangement' button lit on the BR, and that you don't have patterns entered into that arrangement on the BR. Also, you can turn off the drum channel on the BR so that it is NOT 'triggering' drum sounds (either its OWN internal drums OR the DR's drums)...

    Stupid Roland

I have a thought. Let's empathize for a moment with Matt in his dilema. We all KNOW we should be backing up our work regularly, and yes, I suppose it is our own 'fault' if we don't and something bad happens. However, it is far too easy to sit hear and say...well...you shoulda backed up your...

Man you guys are making me drool!

Not sure what Monty means, but his message implies that he is not happy with the 1600, or has heard bad things about it. I too have had mine for over a year, and it is AWESOME. While I am by no means a recording expert, it has allowed me to do things I NEVER imagined I could do. It is a GREAT...

BR1600 ...What way do you use yours...???

I don't use a standard patch. I actually go in and tweak them a little. Some of the brightness might be coming from the Enhancer setting. Not sure where that one is (by default) in the patches you mentioned, but the ones I used had to much 'enhancer' goin on...so I cut it down little. I...

BR1600 ...What way do you use yours...???

Welcome David. This is a common problem. I also have the 1600, and M-Audio BX-5 monitors. I have 'learned' how to adjust what I'm hearing through them to effect the bass properly. At first, I had exactly the same problem you describe, so I've learned how to compromise for the fact that the...

    For BOSS BR1600 Owners.......

For monitoring, I use one of the two headphone jacks routed to my near field monitors. I did not like using the master fader output, as sometimes to monitor as loud as I preferred, I had to peg the signal which obviously causes other problems. Using the headphone jack lets me set the master...
