i was just looking for some thoughts on the best way to record a bass direct when you dont have the option to mic an amp. what are good direct boxes? is there something better. i used a pretty basic box once and i couldnt really get a good bass sound. any ideas?? thanks a lot!
heres a good setup
hey dude, i know what your going through with this. i too have limited funds but i keep adding to my setup and i humbly think that i cant get a really good sound with what i have. well what i have is, a computer of course, cakewalks sonar 1.0, which i got on ebay for 115$, a...
im kinda confused on what to get and what is even availible for multi-track recorders. i know i could just send a mixer to sonar but i would like each track to be seperate in sonar and not just one big mess. so what exactly is out there?? thanks s much again!
I have Sonar 1.0 and im just wanting some ideas on how my setup looks and if anyone has any opinions on anything better. well my setup looks like this. condenser mic to mixing board, mixing board to pre-amp, pre-amp to audio interface, and then interface to USB. is there something that is better...
I need a pre-amp for my AKG 3000 microphone and I would like to only spend about 250 dollars on it. I know that I cant really get an awesome on with only that much cash, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. And if there is an awesome amp for more, let me know. Thanks everyone!

i am fairly new to recording. i do own a AKG studio mic and a roland UA-30 interface and enough amps to record well. but i am looking into getting an interface that allows me to record more than one channel simultaneouslly. so i can record a band one time together and then be able to mix each...
i own a fat strat and it is awesome. i have played a few LPs and they are equally awesome but in different ways. the LP is easier to play when i comes to lead stuff and it just feels more like an acoustic inrtrument cause of its nice warm, fat sound. but my strat plays such an awesome grunge...
Zeke,
are you talking about using a multi channel audio interface? cause that is the only way i know haow to record more than one mics at a time into seperate channels. but if there is another, that would be awesome? if you could expound on this, i would appreciate it a lot. thanks!!
all is in the eye of the beholder
One thing i have learned throughout the years, is that when ever it comes to sound, it is all in the ear of the one producing the sound. Many people think many things. I was just in the dark about pre-amps and wanted many opinions. So that is why I am here. Thanks.
i have tried many different ways to record my drums to get them to sound good. and i have finally come up with a good method using only a single mic. i just record a single piece of my set at a time. e.g. first i record the hi-hat, then the snare and so on. the sound quality is excellent, but it...
