FS: CAD M179 and Behringer ADA8000

Trying to clean up so I'm selling off some less used stuff. I'm in Los Angeles (around USC) so if you're local, that'd be really awesome, but I'm also able to ship things out too (Paypal accepted)... Behringer ADA8000 - works well. Some scuffing on the top but that's it. $150 CAD M179 - in...

what processors are you laptop users using?

We live in an age of power. Having enough power is often not as important as having the right setup. Right now my main laptop is a Centrino 1.5 GHz with 1.25 gigs of RAM and an E-mu 1616M feeding Sonar 5 Producer. Doesn't choke up when I'm recording 14 channels at a time (don't have an SPDIF...

$99 Cad pack from GC - anyone try it?

The gxl1200s are decent mics, worth the price. I haven't had first hand on the 3000 though... Always seemed the 3000 was expensive at around 150 bucks (considering the m179 at 200) but in this package it's probably worth it...

    MOTU Ultralite vs. Echo Layla3g

IMHO, when it comes to interfaces, working is the most important thing in the world. Features, preamp quality, bundles, etc. all take a backseat to simply working. I know around school, I've seen far more problems with MOTU gear (especially driver/configuration related) compared to Echo, and...

SATA or Udma for Audio Drive?

Simlpy put...look at individual drives. Interfaces (as in SATA vs. parallel) are far more than what the hard drives are physically capable of. Go look at hard drive reviews (check out the stuff at storagereview.com) and figure out what's best. Honestly, there's a lot of parity within classes...

CAD Equitek e100-2 & e300 Condenser Mic Package

I tried the E-100^2 and it's at least as awesome on bass drum as the old e-100. Did a real decent job on some overdubs when the school TLM103 went out on us. I haen't tried the new e-300^2, though.

    wdm vs asio

Back when I used M-Audio, I used WDM. With my E-mu, I use ASIO. It's all on not just a card by card (and often even system by system) basis. What works best works best, you know?

got an EMU1820m with bundled software $479

It should all be good stuff. That same software bundle was being sold by E-mu to existing e-mu sound card users for around 30 bucks...so yeah. It's probably that same thing.

    Is this piano part playable?

As a former classical pianist, I'd say plenty easy. Any studio musician worth anything would be able to play it. It basically boils down to one decently quick figure and one two note repeating thing. What makes it easy is that it's basically all wrist. Easy for a pianist.

    12v phantom power?

Most electret condensers are fine with phantom power going all the way down to the 9-12v range.

    Sony C 48?

Awesome mic. Wonderful spoken word mic (which is the only way I've used it, ADR).
