    If Greg Did Metal

This guy makes good points but he's become a sellout. He made video bashing the Axe-FX II and sims in general and then did an endorsement series for the Bias simulation software. He can be bought to say whatever you want him to. He'd be endorsing autotune if they paid him. Merry Christmas.

    An EP I recorded

Thanks man. I think that the quality of the mixes ended up fluctuating a bit between songs but there are three that I'm really happy with.

    An EP I recorded

Hello HR, I've been gone for a few months. University things but I also recorded, edited and mixed a band's EP in a mean time. It's a bit of alternative rock, punk, grunge and raggae all over the place. We recorded it over three days and then I spent a few weeks editing and mixing with the...

    The New Tone Thread

I've been experimenting more with the Kemper. I got an opportunity to really test the Kemper today at a proper studio with some good microphones and obscene speakers. Picture: lots of Marshalls! They really highlighted the difference between the amps and the profile. The Kemper tended to add...

    Audio Myth Buster Thread

What do you count as a variation? There are so many great tube amps that aren't either or sound close to their models.

BatsBrew TunesS, 2 for 1 tonight only

Angel: Good sounds overall. The mix is pulling me to the left because of the thick bass or guitar and the snare as well as the more prominent guitar parts.

    Requesting Feedback

This is pretty well made. Reminds me of some early 2000s hip hop. I think that the piano could loose some mids to not pierce the vocal.

Rusty Cage, Rock N Roll Man

There are way too many low mids. The intro guitar has them and the bass just slams more on top of it. The songs sounds like it's in a room next door at a bar. It's lacking presence and is being completely smashed by undefined low end. The cymbals are sizzly are harsh. The mix sounds like it's...

    Guitar to USB?

It probably should. I don't know about the quality, though.

    Which to upgrade...instrument or interface

Real drums will do a big one for your songs. It's tough because you need a good set, a few microphones and a good room as well as a person that can play and an interface that has enough inputs. It will sound better.

tips for getting a great thick bass sound DI

I recorded a guy a few weeks ago that had a Musicman stingray. Didn't matter if you mic'd his amp or we DI'd it, the tone was just fantastic and pretty much the same. I'd almost wager that when it comes to bass guitars, there is more tone in the instrument and its pickups than with other...

    Compressors and vocals question

They could be. I've gotten used to digital compressors and their 0ms attack possibilities. Even 1176 plugins are a tad slow. A quickly slapped bass guitar will slip through every time even on the fastest attack.

How many of you use pitch correction for your own vocals?

I know what you were going for. :) There are few art forms where one person is the sole creator from start to finish in every detail.

How many of you use pitch correction for your own vocals?

4tracker, about your example with the book: being able to write a book isn't about typing skills or being able to spell. It's about creating a story and an interesting plot. You can be dyslexic and still be an amazing novelist. Poor typing is more akin to using poor pickups and old strings. The...
