    Some live covers..

We're a local cover band, who did some live recordings at a gig a couple of weeks ago. These are some of the mixes I'm having LF issues with, that I'm refering to in this thread.. LF Issues These songs were recorded live, one take - premixed on the console busses to 4 tracks - drums, bass...

    Mastering help/suggestions

Yeah, I have done this - compared these to the originals on my TR8N's. The mixes sound PFG on them - when A/B'd with the originals. Just seems like everything else I play them on has too much bass, or not enough. Or too much upper mids, no highs... or soemtihng else. And I just don't buy that...

    Mastering help/suggestions

and now another anomaly !! Just got back from band rehearsal, where I took the same CD and played it for the band, thru the PA in one of my church's smaller Worship rooms (we have 5 separate systems). This one has hung [inverted] Yamaha S15V speakers, no sub, B*ringer board.... IMHO, CD sounded...

[BACKGROUND] Guys, I've been lurking hear for a few yrs.. mainly reading and educatingmyself - thanks !! I'm in a cover band and we have recorded some 'live' demos to use as handouts along with the requisite pics in the promopak !! I have a Korg D1600, so we used that. We are limited in the...

    Deciding On PA Equipment

Confusitron, At the risk of preaching some....... I think you need to re-think your focus on an FOH board for live recording... First, most live recording (at the pro level) does not come from the FOH board. There's usually a snake splitter feed to the recording board, just as there is to the...

    wharfdales vs events

I've got the opposite problem, no exposure to the Wharf's, but love my Event's. Just to confuse you (LOL), I'd spend the extra $25. You'd still have the Hafler even if you don't like the 2020's.. Steve

    Korg D32XD/Please Help.

Hey BigBro', I own a Korg D1600 - with which I'm happy, but still looking for something up the ladder in the 24-bit domain .... . If I were going to look at $2999 for the D32XD, I also take a serious look at the Tascam SX1-LE - for same money. Korg put some GREAT features on the D32XD, but left...

    Uncoloured Headphones for Monitoring?

I have a couple of sets of the 240M's and can wear them forever. I wanted something that was close-backed for the recording process tho' - so I finally decided on the Senn HD280's. Afte returning two pairs - on one the left side refused to work, and on the other the headband fell apart after 3...

Which is better Akai DPS24 or Yamaha AW4416?

yeah, but keep in mind there's an extra cost to getting the Akaisys interface on your computer !! That up's the price enought to compare directly with what's on the Tascam SX !

    Drool

I wonder if it come with the original owners manual ? :) They didn't say on ebay !?

Which is better Akai DPS24 or Yamaha AW4416?

Mongoo, LOL, you forced me to go do a direct itemized compare on the two units, and yeah, I have to agree, side by side there little difference. Here's some I found 1. The SX runs on BEos, so it's basically a disguised computer - albeit set up for a specific purpose. 2. It supports 128...

    Need new monitors, recommendations?

I A/B'd the MAudio BX8's, Event TR8N, the Roland DS90's and the KRK V6's....... couldn't find a pair of Yorkie's tho.... While the KRK's were definitely top of the line, I wanted the larger 8" LF speaker, and didn't want to add a sub-woofer. NO $$$ Rolands I discounted as being overly bright ...
