Gate? I think it's best to close mic each drum, then insert a gate before Drumagog. It gets tricky with Ghost notes sometimes, so I suggest getting the best sound possible with close miking, so you can blend the real drum back in if you need it. Good luck. Rez

We've recently had good success with Attack 2 ply heads on toms. Before that we were tried Acquarian Studio X coated, but they didn't last very long. Wonder why... Anyway, I also agree with MadAudio = pinstripes are a usually a good choice.

Definitely check your plug ins and that you're software is paid for. The only other thing that comes to mind is the computer's system beep. In other words- the computer might be telling you that it is overheating or there is some other prob. Or something as simple as email notifications.
