The TC Electronics mic mechanic is great live but I would not record with it.
Proximity/distance from the mic has a lot to do with the sound. Good live singers move themselves or the mic closer or further depending upon what they are doing.
When recording I often do this in a less drastic...

I have mostly been a lurker for the past few years, learning and experimenting.
I am attempting to master myself mostly due to budgetary constraints.
I have read a lot of info and many seam to say the max output level should be -6 dB
I have done that and I like the mix, the...
Hi All,
I am not sure if this is a recording and or mixing question.

I bought the Killer Home Recording ebook a few years ago and in spare time, here and there put a small home studio together to record my band when time allows. I work crazy hours.
I am using ProTools 11

It would never mean anything else, thanks for thinking I would just copy and paste a...
I love thick Chunky metal guitars! to answer you questions on layering...
Here is what I do.
A total of 5 guitar tracks
Two matching hard rhythm tracks panned hard left and right
Two matching rhythm tracks with less low end and more mids, panned 35% right and left
One Bright rhythm track...
