thanks Burt, for your response. I never really noticed the "popping" before. thanks for pointing that out. yeah, I actually have been playing around with a slower pacing of the song, haven't quite developed it yet though. Jordan.

I posted a while back with some rough demos i recorded. I tweaked them the best i could with the equipment i have, so they are still not GREAT recordings. but, it's my final attempt at it until i go into a studio sometime in the future. it's on myspace, so it may sound a little worse...

well thanks for the replys and criticisms. Yeah I do agree with the drums being the weakest part of my tracks. I can't seem to get solid drums at all. But that probably has to do with the fact that i'm using sm57's to record the Kick drum?

I've been using the firebox for over a year now and have never noticed and "noticeable" noise. I think the pre's sound good and clear. maybe something is wrong with yours?

yeah, i was actually considering the podxt as well. I'm recording anything from soft rock to distortion - but not metal distortion . Thats what i'll probably end up doing, buying the podxt and an amp in that 600 - 800 price range.

i've been using garage band with my presonus firebox for the last year and seem to think it has some great sounding effects. BUT, am i limiting myself with this software? I don't hear anyone using garageband on this forum.
